I bought this for my 8 month old to start exercising. She got straight to the point! She used to use a regular straight-handled baby spoon, but I often had to stop her because she pushed the spoon too far into her mouth and choked on it. Because of this spoon's curved handle, he can "feed" himself while remaining secure. The handle has a curved curve that allows it to be held well. She's still learning but it's been a great practice tool and she's so proud of her new skill!

My two year old daughter was becoming very stubbornly independent and had no skills to do anything and these spoons were a real find.
