I gave this to my daughter for her 10th birthday. It's perfect for this age. She could perform actions on her own, but they were all interesting enough for her. The only negative comment I have about the item is that the packaging is a bit missing inside. Everything was just loose in 2 big pockets whereas most products these days have plastic to keep items in place. Bought for my kids who love making slime. My kids were happy to open the set as the box was large and the pictures looked attractive, but when they opened it they were disappointed to see the limited ingredients and no glue. The box was large but the contents were very small. There was definitely not enough material for all experiments, as stated in the product description. Many of the experiments were not as described in the manuals. I majored in chemistry and some of the descriptions are far from the truth and misleading as to what the final presentation will entail. I really liked this kit as I thought most consumables were included for the price. It is not. There is a huge list of additional consumables that you will need. The item description briefly mentions "Just add common household ingredients and tools from around the house" and says "Creations your child will love instantly". Very disappointed with this set. It's not convenient or easy because you need hundreds of other ingredients to do these experiments (see photos). However, the WORST thing is that even if you follow the instructions for the experiments exactly, they still turn out wrong.
