4 hands and 24 minutes

We thought we'd have to replace the $150 bezel because of a broken string. Ordered this kit and now we have privacy again. Nice note: the rope is enough to attach 1, maybe 2 more shades. A little difficult to assemble the lampshade, but with the help of my wife everything went smoothly. Tip: When you put the lampshades together, have someone pull the strings so they don't get stuck in the wrong places, this is useful when you're repairing them. The guide is pretty good.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Useless features

Pay attention to the thickness of the cable.

The kit was completed but after having problems pulling the day/night blind with four cords it turned out that the thickness of the cord made this impossible. I figured out on my own that I drilled 4 holes in the center piece so I could thread the thicker thread separately and it worked. I can't remember if it was in the instructions or a YouTube video, but somewhere it was mentioned that this kit won't work if you have a specific type of day/night shade. A quick tip: first look at the gauge of

Perfect for my needs.

I had 2 pleated two tone sunglasses that needed repair. They were the right size and length. Actually ideal. I wanted to spend money and create a local shade spot for this, but when I saw how much they charge I decided to explore YouTube and found some great videos. Actually from this manufacturer. The first one needed a little more attention and work. I think it took me longer to remove and reinstall them in my RV than I did to change the strings. You can do this. I found it odd that I…

Pros
  • Best in the niche

  • Cord is shorter than other picks

Measure your blinds to ensure you have enough rope to complete your project.

We have reupholstered 3 day/night blinds in our caravan with 2 sets - 1 set for 2 smaller blinds and another set for the larger blinds which run the whole rear of the caravan. I watched the videos and read the instructions which were clear. Tip: Buy a long, blunt-ended darning needle to thread through the holes - this works fine. I also tied 2-3 ropes around the dark and light part of the shade so they stay folded when I pull them up. We took our time and it was much better than buying new…

Very suitable for repairing blinds.

This kit worked very well to fix my pleated blinds in my camper van. The ad says the kit will fix up to 4 blinds, this may apply if the blinds are small. My blinds were 42 inches wide, were 4-string blinds, and required a separate kit for each blind. The step-by-step instructions were easy to follow and helped me understand how the different day and night tones should work properly. I found it useful to have a small piece of stainless steel wire to thread the cord through the holes holding the…

  • Great for a small home

Essential purchase for RV

First of all, it's so annoying when you tear the curtain cord or stretch the old ones, so the curtains keep falling. The blinds in our 5th wheel were surprisingly good day/night shades and we didn't want to spend money to replace them. We found this first aid kit and are thrilled with the results. We've changed strings in the two largest shades, and there are still strings for unforeseen circumstances. Follow the instructions carefully and take your time! Dismantling curtains requires patience,

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • No instructions

Just glad it's available

When my van light broke I thought "Oh no! Where can I find a correct size replacement to match the ones I have and how much would it cost? I found this and it saved my day. I gave it a five star rating purely for affordability and that it generally works despite three stars for usability issues. It's not easy, but the videos help a lot. It's just a brutal process. Note that my original sunglasses are oddly attached to the anchors at the bottom, with two lines leading to each anchor. I don't…

Pros
  • High score for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • I don't remember

At least NOT THAT BIG!

Works great, easy to install. The only problem is the color. My motorhome is 2006. My sunglasses appear to be beige (they are certainly not white) so I ordered beige but the cord in this pack is darker than my sunglasses. Compared to the other (still original) shades, the cords appear to be white, but any NEW white will contrast much worse with the color of my shades than beige, in my opinion. In any case, I want them to be an intermediate color. (Maybe there is, but I haven't found it). A good
