🔧 Efficiently Lubricate with Plews & Edelmann Plews 30-200 Standard Duty Grease Gun in Black Review

The gun keeps losing vacuum. You have to pump air out of the device several times. Very frustrating. On other models, too, you can pull the lever backwards and turn to lock it. This allows you to manually push the plunger inward to facilitate air purging. The one I received does not have this function.

Bought this grease gun to lubricate a lawn mower spindle that I needed to replace. I've never used a grease gun and probably wouldn't need one for a very long time after using this one, so I didn't want to spend a fortune. The Plews Standard Duty Grease Gun was just what I needed. It was cheap and worked great.

Works well for $ but you really need a flex hose if you're trying to get to oiler under your car. I bought a flexible hose but couldn't detach the nipple from this solid hose (looks like it was glued on) so I ended up buying a nipple too. After all, it was almost as expensive as buying the right gun.

I bought several oilers at a tractor build shop and bought the second one imagining it would be more expensive to work better. The annoying thing about hardware grease guns was that I had to inflate them, loosen them, etc. before they would deflate and start spitting out grease. BUT with that they started expelling the lube in just over a few strokes which was so nice I bought a second one.

Although it is a lightweight grease gun, it met my needs. The case is not thin and does not bend. The threads line up well and the upper screws can be screwed in without any problems. I can use it 2-3 times a year on easy to access fittings. No problems with air supply and exhaust. The instructions turned out to be surprisingly helpful. At this price I may have separate grease guns for different grease formulations. No hassle cleaning to replace different hoses, no cross-contamination and less…

Fantastic, this is a lot better than the one I bought from Menards. I bought two, one from Revain and one from Menards, but didn't open the boxes for about a month. When I look at Revain reviews now, the one that didn't totally suck was from Revain and the one that absolutely sucked was from Menards. If you're just looking for a standard grease gun, this is it. I got this to replace an old worn standard shotgun my dad gave me years ago. It comes with a metal tube and an oiler that you simply attach to the top of the gun. You should ensure that the fitting is firmly attached to the barrel before screwing it onto the gun so that grease does not spill out of the bottom of the fitting when you inflate the gun. I've used this a few times and been happy with the gun part but the grease fitting and hose that connects it to the gun is a real problem. The clutch on mine started leaking under pressure before the grease came out of what I was lubricating. The rigid tube has no wrench slots. So when I tried to swap out the clutch it just started twisting the tube where it connects to the gun...it took a couple of vises and that much damage to get the clutch loose. When I first removed the lubricator tube from the lubricator head I felt there was a problem with the threads. Of course, the internal thread on the head broke in several places. The metal shavings from the faulty threads naturally contaminated the o-rings and the interior of the genie as a whole. To be clear, this is not user error, but a manufacturing defect, possibly due to a bubble or other contamination in the casting. The damaged areas on the threads are only a few mm by a few mm in size.
