PoE Texas PoE HAT for Raspberry Pi 3 B+ 4 and IEEE 802.3af PoE Network Review

Works warm. Apart from that good. Suitable for standard Pi cases whose transformer case barely touches the top of the case. 3.4W total power consumption on a Headless Pi 3B+ with Aeotec Z-Stick. Edit: still works after 8 months. The only downside is that it's only held on by ports. It would be advisable to include a small stand and screw so you can attach it to the Pi more securely.

Product works as described. Supports my Raspberry PI with no issues or issues. I gave it a 4 because it doesn't have a fan like some other brands. You must remove the heatsinks from the RPI to install it, but you must do this for every hat board you install.

I can't find a compatible Raspberry PI 4 case that supports the GAF POE HAT, especially if you want to work with a case with a fan A list of confirmed cases would be nice. The two I have don't close with the hat on because they have built in heat sinks. If you want an LDDR4 memory heatsink it would be good to know that this requires an additional low profile heatsink as the pins on the transformer protrude above the PCB.

POE Texas once again impresses me with an inexpensive well made component. Not much to say, but it's easy to set up and delivers consistent tension. Would buy again.

I have used Texas PoE products for many years and they all work perfectly. I like PoE HAT for my Raspberry Pi. It plugs right in from the top and fits most Pi cases. Highly recommended. A++
