Portable Monitor Inch Bimo Matte 16", IPS, HDMI Review

I wasn't expecting much from a non-brand name, but after changing a few settings it's great. The out-of-the-box settings didn't really show the monitor's full potential. The screen wasn't bright or colorful at first, and whites were a little fuzzy. I changed the backlight from 30 to 70 and it's a whole new beast. It's like going from SDR to HDR, colorful, vibrant and still good blacks. Another "Ultra Vivid" setting made the slight blur crystal clear. I use mine as a second monitor for my laptop

I wanted an external travel screen. I had one that was 1080p but it was too limiting and 4k screens make things look too small so this 2k from Bimo is perfect for me. The frames are amazing and when you use the lid as a stand it takes up little space. The front space gives your mouse a little less freedom of movement, but they thought of that and included a plastic stand that works great and folds up very compactly for easy movement. I bought and returned 3 portable monitors due to quality issues, but this one finally met my standards. Without a doubt excellent value for money. Brightness and color display is really good, and a 2.5K resolution is key, especially since many other portable monitors still only display 1080p, which to me is outdated technology.

The screen quality is really good. I'm surprised that such a lightweight device delivers such a good display. Set up on my USB-C connected laptop was easy, plug and play. The only drawback is the lid. It also seems to work as a stand, but the monitor isn't attached well enough (with magnets) to the lid to be secure. Included in the box is a foldable stand/easel that works but is a different matter to take and set up.

I was impressed with the quality. However, I had to use this with a Mac Mini M1. This car had a small problem with external displays and therefore unfortunately had to be returned. The M1 scaling issue is a bit awkward. I tried it with Windows and other Macs with an Intel chip, everything worked fine. I would say scaling is very handy on Windows machines.
