PORTER-CABLE Router Template Guide, 9-Piece: Achieve Precision and Versatility in Routing Review

This is a suggested/recommended addition to the Dovetail Cable Clamp for carrying. Without knowing as much as I need to know, I ordered this along with a jig. This is NOT REQUIRED in most cases. The bracket includes the rails required for most applications. If you are ordering this as an add-on to the mount, I recommend waiting until you receive the mount and only ordering this set if needed.

You are using a DeWalt 618 router with a dovetail cable tray. As you can see from my photos, the guide bushing is too long to use with this router on this jig. They hit the guide bushing on the fixture frame. Any bushings longer than 1/4 inch are longer than the thickness of the mount, FYI. Hope that helps.

Works very well with the Festool OF1400. There is also a Bosch 1617 router, but its templates are not universal. Porter Cable wins this round. I would like the individual templates to be labeled more clearly. There is a faint stain inside the item; would prefer clear ID/OD labels. The templates are rough cut, which becomes even more evident when used in the Festool ecosystem, but for you this is Porter-Cable standard. But they work, and that's what matters in the end.

Not much to say about these milling machine bushes; They fit into the base of the router and a ring threads onto the grommet, holding it in place. I didn't use all of the jacks, but the three I used worked as expected. Why four stars and not five? These parts are castings, not machine screw parts, and the rings didn't thread onto the two bushings very easily. In fact, I wire brushed the bushing threads before the rings were fully seated.

This kit is just average. While all inserts fit well, they are poor quality metal and without the centering tool that should always come with one of these kits, the inserts are difficult if not impossible to true leading to bushing wear. Rockler has a much higher quality brass kit and includes two centering pins, 1/4" and 1/2" shafts to align the templates properly. And the price is very similar. Save your money here.

Guide Bushings fits my 690 PC Router perfectly. ), but the latter is not in this set. The second issue is that I bought a kit that required a rail (believed to be 42045) for PC 4116 Omnijig (discontinued) after watching the official 1/2 blind youtube guide. dovetail cuts. I find the depth too deep for the 1/2" dovetail (1/4" shank, stock length) to protrude enough. So my options seem to be: 1. A longer shaft or 2.
