🔧 Powerbuilt 648473 Spindle Nut Socket Black - Perfect for 4-Lug Vehicles with 2-3/8" Outer Diameter Review

I used this on my 2007 LBZ 2500 Duramax. It didn't fit so I had to grind the inside of my teeth to make it work. I read that others have used it for their own purposes. Not sure if my part was just small or just not designed for it. But it only took 1 minute and I did my job.

Fits Dodge Drw 11.5 aam rear axle spindles with slight modification. It took me 5 minutes with a Dremel and a cutting wheel, sanded the insides of the studs and the left side of each, and boom, look at the pictures! Better than spending $190 for one! Buy and upgrade!

I bought this 1 11/16 socket to loosen the hub nut on my 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4. because the wheel bearing whined. I bought a factory hub instead of an aftermarket hub; a little more expensive but I don't want to repeat it. When I hit the Earthquake 1/2 drive with HF, it detached in a split second. The bushing fit snugly and perfectly into the hub's notch.

When pulling the spindles on my 1993 F250, one side came off easily and the other I spent about an hour with a board and sledgehammer and got stuck. I was reluctant to order this instrument. But with the help of this tool and a 5 pound slide hammer, I got the spindle off in less than 5 minutes. Hard to believe I spent so much time using so much force and achieved nothing, and then knocked it out so quickly with the help of a deadbeat hammer.

First one I bought and it worked but I couldn't get enough torque on the nut with it. It kept slipping out no matter how hard I pushed against the tire. I was close, but it's out of spec. If the "teeth" were a bit longer, maybe even 1mm longer, I think that would help with a little hesitation as I cranked to keep them in the nut. Maybe that's a lay opinion, but that's my experience.

Save a ton of money by making your own bearings. It is a necessary and excellent tool. There were no problems with the bending of the petals and other things. ***REMINDER*** The driver's side spindle nut on Super Duty (and many others) has an ROUND THREAD! You're bound to bend the tabs when you tighten them, when you think about loosening them - if you're lucky. If you're unlucky, you'll mess up your axle threads and/or ruin your spindle nut and curse your birthday.

I had to file some to fit the crescent shaped cutouts found in most 14 bolt spindle nuts. Luckily it wasn't heat treated so it wasn't hard to get it working. Since they are actually only needed to set the bearing preload when installing the hub, I don't see the lack of heat treatment as a real problem. There are a few square eyelet heads that will work, but they have smaller square eyelets so they just don't knit neatly. This isn't one of them.
