Amazing for the price!

A great option for the home brewer. The clip works well to attach it to the kettle. Much nicer than the floating style because it's instantly readable. It takes about 3-4 seconds to reach the final temperature.

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Good thermometer, easy to read

The thermometer works great, I use it in my jar/steamer when making candles and am happy with it. The clamp to hold it in the pot is a little flimsy and because this thermometer is so heavy it doesn't always hold it so it stays in the liquid I'm trying to measure, but I found a way to fix it evade. That.

Pros
  • Great general specs
Cons
  • Expensive

Mixed review best in kitchen and food

I bought six of these - three failed (one was my fault - the thermometer got wet and it failed). Others simply became inaccurate during use. I use them to measure the temperature of maple syrup sap and I need an accurate reading. I liked the long stem and easy-to-read display, but was a bit disappointed with the unreliability of the readings. I still use three of these, but 50% bounce rate is low.

Big size. Super versatile. Weak clip.

Great product - already gaining momentum. I use it at work and at home. Candy, dessert, fries - you name it, it's great for that. The clamp wobbles and is a bit loose - The thermometer itself is fantastic and accurate! I originally thought it was smaller but wasn't unhappy with its size and how useful it is. I have recommended it to all my colleagues and would happily buy it again.

A good thermometer, but a terrible weak clip!

The clip does not keep the thermometer upright in a large pot. The clamp is too weak to firmly or vertically grip the rim of the pan, forcing the thermometer into the center of the pan and preventing it from stirring. My old glass candy thermometer kept the thermometer upright and made it easy to stir. The temperature accuracy seems good, but the clamp is too weak! I do not recommend buying this!

Candy thermometer for meat

I used it for the first time a few days ago. It worked better than the slightly more expensive model I had to buy because it was over a week late. I would give 5 stars if the metal clip was of better quality. The clip is the biggest disappointment. The thermometer is difficult to move up and down and doesn't stay in place very well. However, another thermometer I used stopped working after the second use. This one has held up much better so far. Time will tell but for now it has helped me make…

It works well, the reading is large enough to be seen.

It works well, the reading is big enough to be seen. The pan clamp is not big enough for the length of the handle, making it heavy at the top and tending to tip to one side when using it on a smaller pan. I had reading issues when I first got it and then found the battery wasn't making proper contact, adjusted the contacts and now the reading is full screen. The timeout function is a bit tight, sometimes you have to press the start button while cooking to continue reading. Knowing all of this…

Nice design, inferior electronics and clip

Original order was DOA. Didn't work and didn't burn even after replacing the battery with a new one. I called the company and they sent me a new one, which first worked for several months, then worked intermittently, and then didn't work at all. When it was intermittent, sometimes the display came up and it worked properly, sometimes there was just no response. Changing the battery didn't help. Now it's completely dead. As other users have noted, the clip at the top that holds part of the…

I had so many problems with this digital thermometer.

I had so many problems with this digital thermometer. He squirts everywhere. I spend more time adjusting it than frying food. If something in the pot hits it during cooking, the thermometer will definitely move, requiring me to adjust it to the new angle it's hanging at. This is extremely difficult as the clip is metal and is attached to the pan. The entire thermometer and clamp become hot. If I touch it with my bare hands, I'll burn myself. To safely solve the freezing problem, I need to put…
