Great canning seal for Presto Canners!

Just what I needed for my autoclave and didn't have to travel across the country looking for it. I've passed the link on to a friend so he can buy it too. The seal is one of those things that should be replaced often, but we both postponed it because they were hard to find locally. Problem solved! The lid was also easy to attach. No problem!

Pros
  • Finally bought
Cons
  • Fits

I think I fixed my leaking autoclave. It's time for canned goods.

The model number is a bit worn from my Presto but I think it is 01/CAA12H. Problem with a leaking seal. I got it down to just over 12psi for about 15 minutes and there was no moisture leak. I keep my gasket and tin can clean so if that breaks easily or something I'll update my review.

Pros
  • Works great for me
Cons
  • I am writing back

Well you have to love your autoclave to really care about the o-ring. The last time I canned I noticed steam coming out from under the lid. It arrived yesterday, got set up this morning and a couple of pints of canned beef. no problems, no problems and no vapor coming out. Made in China. I don't like it, but haven't seen a made in America yet. That's one of the reasons I love my All American Canner, which is made in the USA and doesn't require an O-ring. But I prefer the Presto can because it…

After a local hunt.

Trying to find this ring for my autoclave model I had to search online for a replacement. Normally that wouldn't be a problem, except that it was in the middle of the heaviest part of my canning season. I was afraid that I would be left without a tin can for more than a week while I waited for the part to arrive. However, after ordering this part through Revain, I received it in the mail within 4 days. When we talk about preserving fresh food, a few days can mean the difference between putting…

What a complete disappointment.

I rated this O-ring better at first, but not anymore. It came with badly damaged packaging so I'm not giving it 5 stars. I only use this tin can as a backup or for a smaller batch of canned goods, so to date I haven't even used it. Bought in March so can't return the damn thing so it's going in the trash. The last liner I bought for my cans didn't last as long as it used to. Now that they make pads in China I will NOT recommend Presto Canners anymore. Very sad because I've been canning Presto…

Pros
  • Beautifully built
Cons
  • Almost everything is there
