So you can take it apart like a tent pole. Differences in connections don't exactly make them. I still use them but I'd like to buy right now.

Sticks work as advertised. fold nicely. The only problem is that you have to make sure they are straight when you unfold them as they are in four parts. Not a huge problem, but a problem you won't have with a solid rod (the benefit of four pieces is you can stow them in your bag, so that's a compromise).

I love these leveling poles. Much more comfortable than the hard sticks I've used. Folds up nicely and easily slips into the pocket of my side bag. I find them durable and easy to use for what they were designed for. Keep in mind that I don't think the rubber band will hold up to much abuse over time. But for me they need to last a long time when unfolding and laying on the ground to balance the stance and momentum.

Folding joysticks are great for stowing in your bag. They are very happy with how well they travel, but that also limits their application. I was trying to use these alignment rods to stay under the swing level by sticking them into the ground when I accidentally hit one of these while trying to stay under the level the rope broke and could no longer be used .
