Description of 🍞 Proctor Silex 2-Slice Toaster: Shade Selector, Toast Boost, Auto-Shutoff - White (22611)

PERFECT TOAST EVERY TIME: Perfectly toast a variety of breads, bagels, English muffins and waffles in this toaster. With extra-wide slots, it will even toast thicker breads like Texas toast and bagels. AUTO SHUTOFF FOR PEACE OF MIND: This 2 slice toaster automatically shuts off at the end of the cycle if toast gets jammed. COMPACT SIZE FITS SMALLER SPACES: The toaster has a compact design to easily fit in smaller spaces and take up less room on the countertop. It's great for small apartments, RVs, and more. EASILY RETRIEVE SMALLER-SIZED BREADS: The Toast Boost feature on this bread toaster lifts smaller breads like English muffins so they're easier to retrieve after toasting. EASY TO CLEAN: Conveniently remove and discard crumbs from the bottom of this small toaster with the drop-down crumb tray, so crumbs don't end up on your countertop.

Do not worry. Pay a little more and get a decent toaster.

I just moved and thought I still had an expensive toaster in stock so I didn't want to spend a lot on another toaster and I realized that a toaster is a toaster and I could not wrong brand. But actually it was junk. I was a little surprised. I couldn't find my other toaster in stock so I threw that one away and bought a better one. I usually like to give things to other people who could use them, but this toaster was such a junk I wouldn't wish it on anyone else.

Can't put zero stars.

The adjustment knob seemed a little loose when it arrived, but I wanted an inexpensive toaster to last a year or so before I move. This one didn't last that long. The first few times the toast was ok but then it got overcooked or undercooked so I had to be careful. Then the lever began to fail as well, and the toast either didn't go all the way down or didn't rise high enough to be reached. He ended up burning the toast twice so the auto shut off didn't work either. I don't need anyone, I have…

Worse than useless.

The first toaster had a terrible finish. Now I have a spare and it's terrible. The slots are too small to toast a whole piece of bread. It's like 1/3 of the bread sticks out at the top and isn't toasted. And God help you if you ever want to stop toasting. You can turn the knob to the lowest setting, but this thing will laugh at you and keep toasting. You can try to physically pull the lever up, but it won't move unless you pull hard. Then the bread blows up and half-fried crumbs scatter…

DO NOT BUY THIS TOASTER!

DO NOT BUY THIS TOASTER! I have bought 2 in the last 6 months. Both have the same problem! I bought it based on the respected name 'Procter Silex', previous experience with the brand and the compact size that fits perfectly in my C class motorhome. They are not what they used to be! I threw away the first one after using it for the first time, because the vertical handle slot went all the way down, but only halfway, so that only the bottom 2/3 slices of bread were toasted. I made sure the…

You get what you pay for.

How hard can it be? Simple toaster. it shouldn't be too hard, right? This toaster didn't work right away. Squeeze the lever and the bread doesn't even go all the way down - there's about an inch sticking out at the top. They were regular slices of bread, nothing special and had plenty of space so it was a miss. Then the settings disk was turned off. I put it on Medium Rare and it barely tanned, let alone tanned and only on one side. There are no instructions in the packaging. I didn't need…

Not worth the attractive price.

We bought this toaster for our motorhome and primarily because of the price and reputation of the manufacturer. Since it's not used often, we didn't worry about the bells and whistles. The shipping was great and it looks good, but when we first used it, we noticed two things that bothered us. 1.) We have to push the lever very hard for it to stay in place and start toasting, and 2.) The lever only goes halfway into its slot so the toast only goes 1/2 to 2/ 3 enters slot for toast. The latter is

Impractical for use in the kitchen and dining room

I like it for such a low price but it's a bit inconvenient to use. Firstly, it is very small, so putting a piece of bread in it is a problem. But you can get used to that if you don't have much space for a toaster. Then the most annoying part is turning it on. When I press the button down it doesn't seem to work. There's no "feedback" on whether it's enabled or not, and it feels like I should keep pushing harder. But it does turn on, you just have no other way of knowing than feeling the heat…

Ideal for toasted strudel, but not for regular bread.

I gave it 5 stars to begin with. I bought it at a time when I was stuck at home for surgery. I had nowhere to go and bought almost everything at Revain. I couldn't cook much, and the only reason I needed a toaster was so I could make toasted strudel. Later, after I moved out and this handy toaster became part of my daily routine, I found that it was only good for a strudel toaster (I think I bought exactly what I need it for). A piece of bread is much larger than a strudel toaster. When you try
