Beware of smaller sizes!

Great tool but you can't limit the force applied to different sizes so you have to feel and be careful. Unfortunately, you don't know what a threshold is until you break something. I messed up a 4mm mandrel within the first few minutes of use by pulling the strings, even with fairly soft stainless steel rivets. Adjust the spike and collar to limit the range of motion for the smaller sizes as much as possible, and don't be a gorilla!

Good tool and GREAT customer service

Great product and customer service. The tool itself seems very strong, but small mandrels can be a bit brittle. I used an M5 mandrel tool to install bottle cage bosses on my steel frame bike and it worked like a charm. When I tried to install the nut with an M4 mandrel it broke, but when I contacted the seller he responded immediately and offered a replacement. I couldn't be happier with their service. I recommend both the tool and the seller

I broke mandrel number M3 when I first used it. The company took over the guarantee!

Easy to use after reading the instructions, works very well when restoring a pontoon boat! After the initial failure and only after 8-10 successful rivets, the tool didn't set another rivet! Whatever we did, it didn't work. I had a whole job sheathing a pontoon boat and a useless tool for it! I would love to return it to get my money back but I missed the return deadline and am now stuck with a useless tool and rivets!

Great rivet nut tool kit and case well worth the premium price

Do yourself a favor and get this version which includes the case with all the tool holders. As others have suggested, apply some light oil to the tool before first use. Another thought to keep in mind: if you're using excessive force when working with a tool, you're doing something wrong. The tool runs quietly and with constant force until the rivet nut is pressed in. If you continue to use force after tightening the nut, you can damage the tool.

Hub for tools and equipment

I received my tool and found the instructions to be a little better than expected except for the instructions on how to adjust the hub which happens to be the most important part of the entire tool. . Reading some of the previous reviews where the mandrel broke on the first try, I believe this could be due to incorrect travel attitude. The stroke determines how much pressure is applied to the rivet as the rivet is pulled into the desired shape. With small sizes, a full stroke is too much…
