Perfect replacement switch

I lost my original switch because one of the wire nuts connecting it to shore power came loose, melted and then arced through the wire to the metal case. There is no such thing with this switch. The body is plastic (so no arcing is required) and the connections are screw terminals, so even if something comes loose the wires stay in place and don't move. It was a bit difficult to find a place to retrofit the mount, but once installed and connected everything worked great.

Pros
  • Decent job
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Installed in my RV to share shore power and my inverter power with no switches or anything fancy and so far it's working like a champ. With proper handling and installation, there is no reason why the circuit board on the device should fail. I'm not a certified electrician but always remember that you are dealing with power, neutral and ground, this is not rocket science. I'm sure if someone breaks this thing and puts things together in the wrong place, the board will break. Just plug the two…

I use it in my house.

Nice little relay. Ease of installation. Thanks to this relay, I moved several circuits to an additional panel and fed these circuits from three power supplies. The only device that noticed the change was the Direct TV receiver. As soon as I put a small UPS on it, the problem was solved. The only thing I worried about was that I would lose power when the relay switched to the battery bank due to the delay function for the generators. No, there is no loss of power, the bulbs flicker a little…

Pros
  • The quick release board is easy to replace in the event of a failure, no need to disconnect and reinstall the entire unit.
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model.

Replaces PD5110610 with this newer model (PD5110010Q)

The model supplied was the latest version (PD5110010Q) from Progressive Dynamics, this model includes Quick Flip Lever Lock Connectors. Previous versions were PD5110010 with pigtails and my old version; PD5110610 with screw terminal blocks. My old unit failed due to a faulty circuit breaker on the transmission tower which would not trip on overload causing the shore power wires at the terminal block to heat up and burn their insulation. This unit was easy to install, but I gave it 4 stars…

Pros
  • Screw Wiring
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Correct description, wrong product picture.

On November 1st my original PD switch blew up after 2 years and 10 months of use. Almost a fire if the switch hadn't tripped. We use our RV so we needed a replacement fast. Not an easy task when you live in a van dessert shop. It was announced that this device could be delivered by November 3rd. Relax! After reading the description and a few reviews, I quickly realized that the picture does not match the device being sold. I agreed. On 3.11. I receive a notification around 3:00 p.m. that the…
