Jeep Cherokee Install

I installed this on my 2000 Jeep Cherokee in about 30 minutes. There is a good video on YouTube describing the installation on a 1998-2001 Cherokee. I recommend this product. He works well and does his job. The only problem is connecting the horn to the locking mechanism. You must provide a blocking diode (separately), otherwise the buzzer will sound every time you press the lock buttons on the doors. A simple solution is to simply not turn off the horn when locking or opening the doors.

Inexpensive basic keyless entry system

I installed this on a 2015 Tacoma Base that came without keyless entry. The system was well designed and required no additional relays to operate. Any time you need to connect to existing wiring (and get it right), it's going to be a chore. However, the main part of this is finding the wiring information specific to your car and this took the most time. The product itself works very well and looks well thought out. Time will tell if it holds up but I was very happy with the product itself and…

Jeep XJ installation, works as advertised

Got this for my '99 Jeep XJ based on a popular installation video. It was just as easy as shown in the video, maybe even easier. It took about 30 minutes and I was done. I recommend watching this video on Youtube first. All the information you need is there. During the installation, I left the default "Impulse on time" and reduced the time interval completely (instructions in the box). The default interval is 2 seconds and holds the lock drives for that amount of time (<chunk>…

Great alternative to expensive Jeep factory parts!

This was a very simple and inexpensive solution to replace the factory remote control locks on my 1998 Jeep Cherokee. Installation took about 30 minutes and cost less than 1/4 the cost of trying to swap out and reprogram the factory remotes. This is a simple 4 wire setup that only requires basic mechanical skills and tools (screwdrivers, wire cutters and soldering irons) to make the electric locks work remotely. However, getting the headlight horn/flash to work is a more difficult task that I…

Works like a charm on my Cherokee.

This works great on my 2000 XJ Cherokee. It costs well over $100 to get a factory key fob and reprogram it. It seemed like a quick and easy way. Installation was easy, 4 wires to connect to the old connector, double sided tape to stick on the inside of the dome. DIP switches and key fob are already correctly installed and programmed. Be sure to unwind the antenna cable from the device and wrap it around the inside of the dome for the best reception. I haven't tested the max distance yet, but it
