Please do not buy! I was skeptical about the product after the 1-3 star reviews. But I decided to give it a try as there were many good reviews. I ordered it for my sister and we tested it as soon as we received it. After about an hour of use, a very unpleasant smell came from the humidifier. It was such a disappointing purchase. Please save some money and just buy a branded product.

Doesn't fit VEV400 despite claiming to be the same filter model. This is not the same as the filter that comes with the Vick Cool Mist humidifier. They have sharp metal parts in the filter that make it a poor fit, and the top of the humidifier doesn't close completely at the back. It's also very difficult to flip the filter every time you fill it with water like the product suggests as it doesn't snap into place like the original. upset

I have been trying to find replacement filters for my Vick's Cool Mist germ free humidifier and they have had good reviews but I am not happy with them. They're the same size and look as Vick filters, but contain a metallic material that makes them difficult to fit in a car and scratches you every time you spin them. I bought several metal flower wall hangings, each lined with clear silicone sealant on the inside, and hung them just above the air vents in each of my children's rooms. I soak one of these filters in hot water every night before they go to bed and put it in a planter so it looks straight out from above and close the bedroom door. I can't believe how well it works for hydrating rooms! I can't comment on how well they work in the electric humidifier they were designed for, but I highly recommend

I tried several other brands of filters that claim to be compatible with the Vicks Starry Night humidifier (model V3700) but they either fell apart easily or were too short for the unit. The filter really needs to fit snugly into the device so that it can properly humidify the air flowing through it.
