Great taste.: Sports and outdoor accessories

I love the taste of water. It seems like I put tap water or bottled water in it. I would give it 5 stars but the water gets hot very quickly. I understand it's not insulated but in the summer it would be better if it stayed half an hour colder.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • No instructions

The bottle worked great

The bottle worked great. I took it on a canoe and was able to filter spring river water and drink it without getting sick. The compass on the bottle worked well too. My only issue was the complimentary paracord bracelet to start the fire. I could barely make it sparkle.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Difficult to say

It's not worth it in outdoor sports and leisure supplies

I bought it to use on my mission trip to Africa. The water there was undrinkable and I figured that would help. The taste was terrible and you had to vacuum hard to get through the filter. It's absolutely not worth it! I wouldn't recommend that to anyone! I would have sent it back but it was already too late when I got back from my trip.

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • Very expensive

Rescuer! Literally

I used this product at the airport because the water quality was very bad. Four adults went hiking on a pristine river in Utah, Zion. We ran out of water, so this device was shared by all of us who drank river water. Without that filer, we'd be in big trouble. We were away from cell towers and all human contact for 15 hours.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Everything is great

good size Two-stage filtration. Overall a 5 star bottle.

Great bottle. good size I really like it and will buy a second one for the office. What I like about it: - Perfect size. - Has a two stage filter and even filters outdoor water sources (although I use it for tap water) - Sealed (doesn't drip anywhere) Things to improve: - Changes the taste a bit at first. But that bad taste went away after about a day or so. Sucking up the water requires some strength.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Some bugs

Great product for sports and outdoor activities Accessory

After doing some research on straw filter water bottles we chose the Purewell water filter and we are very happy with our choice. In addition to providing a large capacity filter, it had a very important device - a tight mouthpiece cover. None of the other bottles we tested had this type of cap and we found it very important when used in such difficult conditions. This was used during the work of "First Respondents" in the area devastated by the hurricane.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • I won't say anything

It works, but it's not great

This filter definitely works in terms of water filtration (tested for taste, not bacteria etc) but water has a distinct plastic taste especially when it does been in the bottle longer. The filter straw is huge, which reduces the effective capacity of the bottle somewhat. It can be quite difficult to get water out of it at times, although it seems to be worst when the water is cold. The compass in the lid is mainly decorative and there's no real reason it's there. The spout has a plastic tab…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Slightly crumpled

Don't plan on drinking water through a straw!

***Updated 12/13/18*** Having used this bottle on vacation in the Caribbean, I can confirm that this bottle should be used in extreme circumstances. The straw is terrible. It takes a lot of work to let some water through. In fact, after trying to eat more, my mouth and jaw hurt. That's ridiculous. My wife also had one (blue vial) and had the same problem. Our goal was to save money on bottled water purchases. Guess what we ended up with? So. I won't be using this anymore. I had to put up with…

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than other picks
