Classic style handlebar that is comfortable to ride

I used these to replace the wide cruiser style handlebar that came with my bike. The originals were too wide for my body and made me feel like I lacked control. I'm in love with the new ones! They're very dated, remind me of the handlebars I had on my old Schwinn as a kid, which is great because my adult bike (the Manhattan Cruisers Aero 6 for women) was inspired by that first one. After watching, the installation was very easy. some online videos.

Sit up straight and relieve your spinal cord

Great bars! Fits perfectly! No cutting required! I have a crossover bike. I have a spinal injury and had surgery and could no longer lean forward and pinch the nerves in my arms/wrists/hands. I gave up cycling after 40 years. My husband had the brilliant idea of replacing the grate and letting me sit up straighter. This handlebar did just that and now I can ride a bike again. I didn't have to change my driving style. These bars changed the rules of the game!

Some approximate measurements

I really like these things, they give me great posture. I know others have given measurements of length, but I had to sift through various posts to get a clear idea, so I thought I'd write them all down here. The distance from the end of the handlebar tips is just over 22.5 inches. The length of the grip before each "significant" twist is about 8 inches. The center of the rod length before any "significant bend" is approximately 5.25 inches. The height when the handlebars are inverted and…

Well made handlebars

They fit my Schwinn/Suburban perfectly. I wanted the handlebar to be more comfortable, with a more upright riding position than the stock handlebar, this handlebar fits the bill perfectly. There is enough room between the bend and the end of the handlebar to mount my shifter, brake levers and throttle (7.5 inch). The handlebar is 7/8" in diameter at the grips and 1" in diameter at the pinch point. - This is a premium heavy gauge steel curved handlebar with a mandrel and a nice heavy chrome…

Great product for the price!

I bought these handlebars to replace the stock handlebars on a 24" mountain bike. The standard handlebars were straight, which left the rider hunched and uncomfortable. be exactly what was needed. I am very pleased! The inwardly curved handlebars now allow the rider to sit straighter, just like on a cruiser bike. Changing the handlebar position did result in the brake cable becoming too short, but this was easily remedied by my nimble husband after I bought new long cables. The 21" width of…

Exactly what I needed!

For the past few years I have driven a retro style 7 speed hybrid and bought it at a discount store because it allowed me to sit up straight. Well now I've joined a few bike groups and ride with people who have light bikes with lots of gears and while I could keep up with them it was work. I wanted to buy one of those fancy bikes but I want to sit up! Spring. I asked a bike technician to fit these handlebars to my new "nice" bike and now I can sit up straight. I also had to buy another place…

Nice Light Bars Mimic classic 1960's/70's Schwinn Bars with an edge

Beautifully crafted aluminum bar that perfectly mimics the curves of classic Schwinn bars from the 60's and 70's - with the added benefit being the only one The key difference is the longer, straighter grip area, which allows you to add accessories and rotary switches that cannot be installed past the first bend of the handlebar and allows you to use them without a shortened grip. This is good for restoring/modifying older bikes where you want to keep the original clutch style but also want to…

A must for a comfort bike conversion

I'm converting an old Specialized Mountain Hard Rock Hybrid into a comfort bike. You know how to bend down, stare at the floor, sit down and enjoy the view. To do that I need to replace the awful straight bar with this one (I suspect the only benefit of a straight bar is that it allows the manufacturer to cram more bikes into one shipping container). This steering wheel does the job. It raises and moves the position of the hands backwards, allowing the hands to return to a normal grip by…
