Not as advertised! in Kitchen Utensils & Gadgets

The seller has a photo of the older model with all the 'PYREX' caps but when I received my measuring cup it is the newer model with all the lower case letters. The new model is in no way inferior to the old models in terms of quality and durability. DO NOT BUY! Disappointed with false advertising from sellers.

Pros
  • Absolutely Amazing!
Cons
  • Minor

Poorly packaged for kitchen utensils and appliances

The item arrived carelessly packed in a shipping carton. There was only a small piece of soft padding. Luckily it's thick and strong glass so it's not shattered but was quite scratched when received. Otherwise it is functional. Still not happy that everything was scratched.

Pros
  • GOLS certificate
Cons
  • Faulty

Next time I would choose a better design.

I have no idea why Pyrex is so popular. This is the second one and I just can't believe how bad the spout is. If you don't pour EXACTLY into the center of the spout, the liquid will run down the sides and go everywhere. At some point in the future. I can't wait for this one to break. Never get one again.

Pros
  • Nicely built
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

We had to throw it in the trash. Impossible to pour out liquids without dripping down the sides. Dirty and dangerous when pouring hot liquid. The ad says they are made in the USA, but they are made in China. We have a similar American mug that doesn't drip when poured. We bought 2 packs, both drip. Also, they are clear glass, not the blue tint of the real brand. These can be fakes.

Pros
  • Acceptable
Cons
  • No insurance

Easily washable writing for measuring devices and scales

I have had this Pyrex measuring cup for about 10 months now. I use it every day and always put my measuring cups in the dishwasher. This 1c measuring cup is now free of any writing. Now it's completely useless, like a mug with a handle and a spout. The measuring cup I had 15 years ago was still in great condition when my son dropped it and I had to find a replacement. Disappointed with the quality of this bypass. I thought Pyrex would be better than that.

Pros
  • Useful not only for the intended purpose
Cons
  • Compatibility

This measuring cup is about 1/16 inch shorter in height and about the same diameter as our 15 year old. The color of the glass has a slight bluish-green tinge, while the old ones are completely colorless. The word Pyrex is written in smaller letters than the old ones, and our old ones also have "Patent Pending" under the spout, but the new ones don't. At the same time, they are almost identical to the old ones, the size marking is legible. The new one is an almost identical replacement for the…

A must for the kitchen.

My old one smashed on the tiled floor when it slipped out of my hand while loading the dishwasher. booooo. I love this measuring cup. I love that the handle goes all the way up so you can pop either one in 5. I love that they're microwave and dishwasher safe, probably oven safe too since it's Pyrex, but I've never verified that. I quickly ordered one from Revain. When it arrived I noticed the handle on the new one is about an inch shorter than my old one which makes me more likely to lose my…
