Black Quirky Spacebar Pop Monitor Stand with Integrated 6-Port USB Hub (PSPBP-BK01) Review

Revain's listing says it has USB 3.0. The product packaging says USB 3.0. It doesn't have USB 3.0. It has 2 USB 2 ports on the back and 4 USB 2 ports on the front. The Revain packaging was pretty bad. The product packaging looked like it had been opened and resealed. When I move the stand, I can hear the pieces on either end of the stand sliding down. Now I have to pack it up again and send it back.

This monitor stand is actually a powered USB hub. It comes with a power cord and a cable to connect to a USB port on your computer. I owned and loved one (in black) for about six years and replaced it to upgrade to USB3. (The new one is white because the cost was much lower.) At first glance, this monitor stand/USB hub is perfect for those who prefer a minimalist design. However, functionality and processing are not sufficient. Hub doesn't work at all. It won't connect to any of my PCs or Macs. For the most part the stand looks pretty good, if not cheap. It feels solid and holds my 21" iMac at a comfortable height. Plenty of room underneath for a keyboard etc. My biggest issue is that the USB ports, which are for power only, don't work intermittently. Me plugged my iPad into one of these and not only am I annoyed at having to constantly hear the iPad charging/disconnecting noise, but also worried about potential long-term battery issues if it stays connected like this like a baby…

Doesn't seem to work well with Mac devices. My USB 3.0 hard drive keeps connecting and disconnecting. The charging ports work well, but the port layout is terrible. The right front and rear ports charge and connect, while the left front ports charge only. This is problematic for my desk as the cable cutout is on the left. where the charging ports are located. Therefore I have to pull cables across the table to connect them which makes my table look dirty. The whole point was that I could "hide"

I bought this with a new 27 inch monitor. I had to lift it over the quad monitor stand where I was going to use the top two mounts for the other two monitors. I just received the product and I love it. Everything is perfect and I was afraid it wouldn't stand up to my monitor. My monitor is heavy because it's a professional photo monitor, but that's not a problem with the Quirky Spacebar Pop monitor stand. It has 6 USB 3.0 ports plus additional power ports and a USB port for connecting to a computer.
