Ramsond SunShield Charge Controller Regulator Review

I use them to charge boat batteries in the off-season. I have 2 panels and 2 controllers and they do a very good job of keeping the batteries in tip top shape when not in use. Why a charger that plugs into the wall and "unrolls" the counter.

The first one I got didn't work at all. When I contacted the seller, I was promptly sent a replacement. The second time it seemed to work in reverse. When disconnected, the bulbs would glow if connected to something I wanted to charge. everything did not shine! I still don't understand the problem.

These are very good controllers! I've bought others that had more features and they let me down! They just do their job and are very durable! (try to keep them dry). I use them for my boat batteries when the boat is on a trailer. I have a 10 watt panel connected to my main battery and a 5 watt panel connected to my backup. They are always fully charged when I launch the boat.

In my opinion they want to separate you and your money no matter the product doesn't even work, this is the first negative review I have ever left. I have other more expensive charge controllers so I wasn't expecting too much given the price but what they sell seems useless, I just wanted my Seadoo battery to charge, now I've connected a more expensive charge controller. no problem.

I bought this after watching a video on Youtube. I installed the cabin's off-grid power system and noticed that my batteries were getting severely drained every morning. At night I checked the current draw between this controller and my solar panel to make sure there was 0.5 amps "going out" to the solar panel. I have now returned this product and bought it from another manufacturer and also spent a little more money. Not recommended.

I bought this Ramsond 12V charge controller to work with my Ramsond 12V panel but I couldn't connect them because the charge controller didn't have the right ones MC4 connectors , just two bare wires. So I had to go and buy an MC4 connector and hook it up myself. Just disappointed that two products from the same brand don't work seamlessly together right away. Otherwise everything seems to be working well after a week, the lights are bright and the instructions are clear and in good English…
