Description of RS9000XL RS999165 Shock Absorber by Rancho

NINE LEVELS OF PERFORMANCE -- Nine-position easy-to-adjust knob allows customized damping control and firmness for on-road and off-road flexibility. DESIGNED FOR HARDWORKING VEHICLES -- Ideal for stock or lifted trucks, SUVs and Jeeps that tow, haul or go off road. INDUSTRY FIRST -- Recognized as the first nine-position manually adjustable shock series in the off-road market. REDUCES FADE -- Nitrogen gas pressurized to 120 PSI to minimize air-to-oil mixture and reduce damping performance fade and foaming. STRONG AND DURABLE -- Features an application-specific 18mm nitro-carburized piston rod to resist scuffs and corrosion, double-welded loops at stress areas and 1.25-in. sintered iron piston for enhanced structural integrity. HANDLES EXTREME TEMPERATURE CHANGES -- Up to 2.75-in. tri-tube body (application specific) filled with all-weather fluid allows for cooler operation, increased vehicle control and ability to withstand internal temperatures of -40 to 248°F. SMOOTH PERFORMANCE -- Polyurethane rebound bumper and bushings and graphite-filled fluon-banded piston help absorb ride harshness and enhance responsiveness to changing road conditions for an overall smoother ride. BUILT TO LAST -- Low-friction, self-lubricating seal retains gas and oil for quicker rebound and smoother compression while the long-lasting premium liquid metallic finish and polyvinyl protective boot ensures long life.

Big shock. Wrong size

I like Rancho shocks but I have a lift kit and this shock is too short. I can't return it and now I have 2 shock absorbers just laying around.

Pros
  • Looking forward to
Cons
  • Vulgarity

not on my f250 on shock absorber

this front shock does not fit on my 96 ford f250, 4x4 without lift kit. can't figure out which ranches are right when they have them. anyway too late for me. Make sure you have the same truck.

Pros
  • price
Cons
  • annoying

Good all-purpose dampers.

These shock absorbers fit perfectly on the front of my 1996 F350 Powerstroke. The adjustment is good for changing road conditions (motorway vs. gravel/rural roads). The only thing I complain about is the poor connection between the shoe and the tube. But of course this is not a violation of the terms of the contract.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Empty

Nothing lasts forever, but the ranch is close.

I replaced my old adjustable ranchos that I installed on my truck my first month in 1996. You have traveled 189,000 miles. And I lived in a 4x4 country in the desert where roads were common and I rode 4 wheels many times a week. Nothing more to say but wow.

Pros
  • Useful for more than its intended purpose
Cons
  • Clarity

Great Shocks best of spare parts

It took me a while to find the right setup for my 1995 CrewCab F350. I now use #4 when it's empty and will probably use #8 or #9 for my 2500lb outboard camper. They recommend turning the adjustment knob a few times a year to keep them working properly. Notice the difference if I move the adjust knob just one #. I got them at a discount so I couldn't back out of the deal. It's worth it. Bought all four. (999112 rear).

  • good item

Front adjustable shock absorbers Rancho 9000, Ford F-350.

These Rancho 9000 shocks are a lot better than the stock shocks, they have an improved ride quality, reduced the harsh effects of road bumps, improved traction through give and improved handling of this vehicle. I have ordered Rancho 9000 front and rear adjustable shocks and the improvement is very noticeable for me and my passengers. I've had Rancho shocks with other cars and gotten similar results. Because of their quality, adjustability, and long life, these are the best shock absorbers on…

Pros
  • Complete Kit
Cons
  • Some Bugs

Amazing Shocks: Replacement Parts

Installed on my 1990 F 250 4×4 with front alignment kit and 33 in the dirt was fine. Set the adjustable knob to 5 to start and what's the difference. Walked off my dash about to explode and fall to a nice smooth normal feel over railroad tracks or a bad potholed road. I can hit 65 mph and my front wheels won't wobble and wobble like crazy. Instant feel of value for money and now a truck bed purchase. It seems expensive for a 31 year old truck, but I love mine and those shocks have made me love…

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • too dumb
