This is my transition to watercolor paper.

This is my current favorite watercolor paper. it's a good white white. many others are in ivory. It makes a big difference how your watercolors turn out. (I love soft colors with thin paint) You can get it in big sheets and cut it out or buy it like this, 4 1/4 by 5 1/2 just to fit on a postcard. it is almost smooth on one side, but "bumpyโ€ on the other. You can do so much with this paper and get different results just by turning it over and trying the other side.

Pros
  • Card Set
Cons
  • Available in black only

Great, nothing special

This gets a lot of rave reviews from YouTube map makers like Jennifer McGuire, but to be honest I don't think it's any better or worse than Canson or Strathmore, which are many, many are more profitable. They have 2 textures: one smooth (which isn't super smooth, unlike hot pressed watercolor paper which is INCREDIBLE (and over $$)) and the other side textured (but not that textured either). It is already pre-cut, which is very convenient. So if you need convenience, buy Ranger cardboard. Ifโ€ฆ

Pros
  • This is great
Cons
  • Some bugs

Save money and buy 140lb real watercolor paper!

This product is working properly. It only weighs 118 pounds, so it doesn't hold up at all if you plan on painting on it with a watercolor paintbrush. I used several sheets and they are all glued together and I don't use much water at all. I did wet to wet and wet to dry and both times I had pellets. The fibers come loose and begin to float in the ink, which is not due to overwork. With this paper, you're paying for the convenience of being precut to a typical card size, but if you want to paint

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Doubtful

Save money buy a toilet mat there is no difference

Save money. I was a buyer for an art store studying graphic design when I bought the Strathmore papers. They are nothing more than tiny leaves cut from a larger leaf. I'm still an artist and in my spare time I copy design and draw. I'm not saying this to sound like a snob or anything, I just want you to know where I'm from and help you get the most bang for your buck (these items don't come cheap). You can buy an 11" x 15" notepad here on Amazon and get the same amount of cutouts in that sizeโ€ฆ

  • Best
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
