The applicator works perfectly. The pads are disappointing

I liked the simplicity of the applicator but I don't like the pads. The pad leaves lint on the tile no matter when I "swipe" the tile. When the tile dries, many inhomogeneities remain on its surface. Instead, I started using a sea sponge. It works much better and doesn't leave marks or alter the surface of the tile.

Pros
  • Always liked
Cons
  • Expensive

A very useful and versatile blending tool.

This is a very useful and versatile tool if you use all kinds of inks and stamp pads. Well made and durable. Easy to handle. The pads are held in place by a Velcro strap that is permanently attached to the applicator. The pads are simply felt. I bought 8 x 11 inch pieces of felt at my local craft store for 0.25 cents each and cut my own mix pads. It cuts fairly quickly with a circular knife. Plus, you get a lot out of a piece of felt for next to nothing.

Pros
  • Scrapbooking and Stamping
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

Not for my purposes

Bought for use with my alcohol ink painting on YUPO paper and ceramic tiles. I don't really like the effect and I can get the same effect with a gloved finger or even a cotton swab. If you like the even pattern in all the drawings, you might like it. The alcohol ink bleeds across the paper and tiles and this element adds texture but isn't really needed. I can get texture with so many other things that I don't use them. I think it would be perfect for stamping ink on paper for a nice evenโ€ฆ

  • Ink Pad

Handy Alcohol Ink Applicator for Decorating Polymer Clay

The price was economical too. I belong to the polymer clay guild and used it for a tutorial on decorating polymer clay with alcohol ink. I rolled out a small sheet of white clay thinly with a pasta machine and decorated it with this applicator before baking. I attached one of the felt rectangles that came with the applicator to the applicator by simply pressing down on the velcro. I applied a few drops of each of the multiple matching ink colors to the swab in random order, then ran theโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Crafts and Sewing
Cons
  • Ugly Packaging
