Description of ๐Ÿ”Œ Rankie DisplayPort to DVI Cable, 6 Feet โ€“ Enhanced with Gold Plating for Optimal Performance

The 6 feet cable connects a DisplayPort / DisplayPort++ (DP / DP++) equipped laptop or desktop to a monitor or projector with DVI input. (Note: NOT bi-directional, only transmits from DP to DVI). Gold-plated connectors resist corrosion and improve the signal transmission. The braided foil shielding reduces interference, and bare copper conductors enhance transmission performance. Supports video resolutions up to 1920x1200 / 1080P (Full HD). The DP connector has a latch to provide secure connection with the port. Press the latch down before unplugging the connector. Suitable for Extended Desktop or Mirrored Displays. customer service from Rankie.

Works great for me

I use this to connect my monitor to a laptop dock that only has 1 HDMI output and the monitor I was trying to connect this to didn't have one display port. It is connected directly and the picture looks great. The cable was nice and thin and easy to manoeuvre. I've only tested this up to 1080p, but like I said, the picture looks really nice and crisp. I definitely recommend this cable if that's what you're looking for.

Pros
  • Very good value for money

Static screen sometimes after waking from sleep

I needed a display port for HDMI or DVI and it was delivered the next day so I went with that option. Everything is great except a day later I wake my computer from sleep mode, I'm greeted with a static screen and the only way to fix the problem is to turn the monitor off and on again. I wouldn't mind if it happened on a blue moon once, but I've found a static screen far more often.

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Not as good as it says

Rankie is my cable company of choice

I have purchased several Rankie cables for my computer company and I am happy with all of them. Before I bought the Rankie DisplayPort cable, I bought one at my local Big Box store. The big box version may have cost 3 times as much, but it lacked the retention mechanism that is part of the DP cable specification and the materials and workmanship were clearly of much lower quality. Renki has servants and is built as expected. Ranki Rules!

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • I won't say anything

Cheap, but cheap enough to make you think.

Inexpensive! And they work very well. The downside is that they seem so cheap that they can't handle much stress. The cables bend easily and look like you're about to rip them out where the shield enters the connector. It feels like they're missing a core or some kind of support in the cable design. If you're just installing permanently, do it. You won't be disappointed, but don't use them for anything mobile or anything that will be moved.

Pros
  • Easy-to-read control panel
Cons
  • Almost everything included

Inexpensive, works well - DVI cable

So I bought these for my multi monitor system, they are currently working fine but when I moved the monitor around it, moved one of them and I have red artifacts all over the screen. At first I thought I had damaged the monitor and got very angry, and then I went into the usual technical stuff. Check the connections and power supply - to see that if this thing isn't set up perfectly, the connection will suffer (obviously). So all is good now, make sure the DVI screws are screwed all the way in!

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Broadly ok but...

I would buy again. suitable for cables and connections

In the past I've had no luck buying a short adapter and then plugging the cable into the adapter (if I wiggled the adapter my screen would flicker or turn off) so buy it I instead use a full length cable with each end having the correct connector. That's it, a full-length cable with DVI on one end and a Displayport on the other end. A solid long cable. I plugged it in and it works great. Just for your information. I use two 19 inch square monitors, not widescreen, with a laptop. So one monitorโ€ฆ

Displayport connectors mount side by side on RX570

I had trouble purchasing these DP-DVI cables for a number of reasons. Mainly because I wasn't sure if I needed active adapters and if I could install them next to my graphics card. I've found that I only need passive because my monitors are only 1080p; You only need passive or direct single channel adapters. The DP connectors offer enough space to connect all three side by side. After connecting them to my setup, I was happy to find all three displays working properly. Processing and qualityโ€ฆ

Would I buy again.: DVI Cable

I used to have bad luck if I bought a short adapter and then plugged the cable into the adapter (if I wiggled the adapter, my screen would flicker or go blank), So instead I buy a full length cable with the correct connector on each end. Lightweight and robust cable with connector lock.

I just bought a refurbished computer with both VGA and DVI ports. 1. I tried to lay the DP cable loosely and the monitor turns off when I move the housing. Since there was no second DP/DVi cable, I wasn't sure if the cable or the port on the computer was to blame. I ordered this rankie dp/dvi cable with locking connector and it solved the problem. Sent back the defective Revain cable. Simple, and a rank cable with a stuck plug costs 30% less than another faulty cable. Can't beat this result. Of

Before replacing a suspect graphics card, check the cables

My Dell Precision 5810 workstation comes with a graphics card with 2 display ports and a DVI connector, allowing me to run 3 monitors at the same time. One day the 3 monitors stopped working reliably together so I figured the graphics card was defective and needed an expensive ($150) replacement. But before opening the box with the new card I bought, I decided to swap out the cable in case the problem occurs with either of the two old monitors in my system. ok, and the problem was that one ofโ€ฆ
