Because of the lead in the chemical formula, it is much denser than other minerals, which makes it seem unnaturally heavy for its size. Amazing Raw Mineral Specimen!

I recently purchased a galena mineral specimen for my science classroom, and i have to say that I am thoroughly impressed .When I tried this product, I couldn't believe the range of textures and colors that I could see. It's perfect for teaching my students about the importance of ore extraction and the fascinating world of industrial and scientific minerals. However, its a bit pricey for the quantity you get. Fascinating Galena Specimen for Science Students

My analysis of this mineral specimen revealed its stunning silver-grey color with crystal formations that make it a perfect classroom tool for students fascinated with geology and mineralogy studies. Great items, terrible packaging

I ordered six packs and received very good samples, exactly as described. My complaint relates to the packaging. All six were placed together in a plastic bag and then packed into a small cardboard box with a piece of newspaper on one side of the box. While small chips and nicks don't pose much of a problem for these particular stones, the end result of such poor packaging is stones and large amounts of lead dust. Dirty and not very comfortable to breathe. Be careful when opening.
