Sturdy and lightweight frame

Bought this after I had an accident with my F450 and after playing around with both I have to say the S500 is my favorite. It's much more stable and lighter, resulting in better control and flight time.

Pros
  • Sturdy finish
Cons
  • Unreliable

Decent frame with weak chassis

Frame is good but the landing skids are very poorly constructed. Plastic tees are brittle and the individual legs on each side are unstable. There should be 2 vertical tubes for each horizontal skid.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Not bad

Great frame for the price!

I fell several times. I accidentally broke my arm and had to order a brand new set but that was my fault. I am currently using 700kv motors with 12 x 4.5" props and they work great. Yes the legs are the weakest link on the frame, the plastic will be the first to break, still a great frame!

Pros
  • Brings joy
Cons
  • So far so good

Use thread lock: APP Remote Control Vehicles and Parts

Great frame but use thread lock. The supplied screws have NO thread lock. I used Thread Lock Blue. I flew it 3 times and crashed once on the frame with no damage (my fault I hadn't balanced the UAV). The legs are the weakest link so I used a cutter wheel and removed 1 inch from them. I bought a second frame and extended the battery holder to use the DJI 2200mAh battery.

Pros
  • Several competitors
Cons
  • None

Great lightweight frame, suitable for cars and app remote parts

I replaced my DJI Phantom 3 frame with a Readytosky S500 Quadcopter Frame Stretch X. It's lighter and flies much better and longer without all the extra plastic weight. It requires some technical skills, but it's worth it. I had to finish some details but overall it looks better and not like a toy. I also have an S550 hexacopter frame but I built it from scratch. again a good strong light frame. It flies great with the Pixhawk autopilot.

Pros
  • Handy item
Cons
  • Some little things

Solid Chinese quality.

I'm new to building my own drones, so my review doesn't have much of the jargon you might be looking for. ARE HEXAGONAL AND ARE THREE DIFFERENT SIZES. Just a note. The INSTRUCTIONS are also VERY GOOD. pretty easy to build. I am happy with this purchase.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • New Competitors Arriving

Glad it held up.

***Update***5-1-21 So after a few days of flying with normal landing, my legs broke again. The tee connecting the lower horizontal bar to the thicker vertical bar broke off. In the end, both sides did. I used some zip ties to hold it all together for a few more flights, but then I slammed it three or four feet in the air. It was a coasting crash - not too fast at all. And then the bottom board broke. After that, it was almost impossible to fly due to all the vibrations going to the air traffic…

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Upgradable
