REDARC BCDC1225D Dc Dc Charger 12V25A Review

I use it to charge a household battery in the back of my jeep to run my fridge and various electronics. Newer Jeeps require a DC charger instead of the old battery disconnect switch due to the low voltage alternator. I connected a plug for a portable solar panel to keep the battery charged while parked. Having everything in one compact package is ideal for off-grid travel and camping.

Works. I just installed a second AGM battery and a smart isolator. This will not refill my AGM battery as I have a smart oscillator that will go from 12.8v to a high 13v depending on the state of charge of my starter battery. The REDARC BCDC charger solves this problem and charges my secondary AGM battery up to 14.6V (full charge) regardless of what my standard charging system is doing. I installed it under the hood above the fuse box. It gets hot in there when the engine overheats so we'll see

It is rare for a product to exceed expectations but this one blew me away. It's built like a tank. Redesigned, with huge cables. The engineers behind it put a lot of passion into the design and you can tell. Over voltage shutdown, under voltage shutdown. Massive cables and feeding amplifiers.
