BT-2 is not prime ready Very buggy

Read all BT-2 reviews. everyone has problems with it. I compare with renogy dcc50s. it worked with the first pairing with android. I was able to get the dcc50s history and change the charge profile to custom and see the solar input. Pros: It has great features when it works properly (every review has connection issues) Cons: The app doesn't remember the connection so you have to do a search every few hours. I couldn't connect anymore. It shows the device is connected but no data is being…

Renogy Bluetooth Charge Controller Monitor

This Bluetooth device transmits information from the Renogy DC50S charge controller. As far as I know, this is the only device available for it. It reports the voltage and current being fed to the battery from the solar panels and an alternative source such as the car's alternator. It also reports the battery temperature. This is useful information but does not accurately reflect the charge level of my lithium battery. Basically 100% read. I can judge it by the number of amps going into it when

Works well for my purpose

Lots of negative reviews on this product - let me counter with positives. My Renogy controller is mounted under the floor and under the table between two benches. This got in the way when looking at the display - I had to get up on my hands/knees and crawl under the table. I also didn't like the fact that I had to press the scroll keys to force the display to change to see all the data it was supposed to be showing. So I have this Bluetooth thing so I can see my stats on my phone and not have…

  • Satisfied so far

Good but needs an update

It's nice to see the solar system vitals via the app without having to look at the controller. However, the temperature always shows 25 degrees Celsius, although the Rover 30 amplifier controller shows the actual temperature differently. You need to connect a temperature sensor to show the temperature that applies to the battery temperature. State of charge is also programmable for lead-acid batteries. If you install lithium, the lithium charge level will be displayed incorrectly and the…

Bad software is good for energy controllers

Being able to remotely control the solar controller seems like a good idea. The device was easy to install/connect to the solar controller. Installing the software on the phone was also easy. But the getting started guide doesn't say much about how to connect the software to the device. I had to find out by browsing the menu and trying different things. Every time you open the app on your phone, you need to add the device to the software, it needs to remember what you have! Once you connect to…

Doesn't work with DCC50S

Doesn't work with DCC50S DC-DC charger. I found the same problem mentioned on internet forums. Tried both apps. Renogy BT connects but never enters data (serial number etc.) after connection. When you return to the monitoring screen, nothing is displayed. In the Renogy DC Home app it connects, but once you get to the screen you'll have to choose the type of device it's connected to (controller, battery, solar, or DC-DC), whichever device you choose to connect it to says that no device is…

Feeling a bit cheated and salty

Just my personal experience with the 3 charge controllers I bought from them: started with one of those little cheap Renogy PWM starter controllers. After a while I got frustrated because I didn't know how much power I was generating, what voltage I was at, or where my batteries were. I've seen some additions for bluetooth functionality (BT1) with a better controller so I upgraded to the cheapest model with an ethernet port (Wanderer) and also bought a bluetooth module and thermometer. That's…

Pros
