A first class product from a great company

With Renogy you get not only great quality, but also unmatched technical support. My second system is from them and I couldn't be happier. My van is unplugged with a commander, 500 watt panels and 460 amp hours from four 6 volt batteries. They walk you through everything with diagrams and are always available to answer any questions you may have. It's a bit cheaper there, but I wouldn't buy solar products from anyone else.

Pros
  • Rugged construction
Cons
  • Available in white only

However, it works as expected since it is the only .

Works as expected but as it's the only charge controller I've ever used I have no comparison. The only reason I gave it four stars was that the software was pretty finicky. Sometimes I have a hard time reading the charge controller. The head amp appears to be reading 1/4 of the charge controller LED. This may be a configuration issue which I will investigate further.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

Service or repair not possible after 1 year.

I installed this charge controller and 4 x 100w panels on our sailboat 2 years ago. The charge controller started to go haywire when we were on the long journey to the Sound of Desolation. I had to disconnect and reconnect the panels for the system to start loading. I contacted the company and they informed me that the warranty is only for 1 year. I asked how much they charge for out of warranty devices. They tell me they won't work with any device that isn't under warranty. So if it breaks…

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • So far so good

Someone asked about the maximum array voltage. A: The manual says 150, but Renogy says it shouldn't exceed 135. I'm using 6 panels at 100 watts and it's usually around 110 when not under load. This is an intelligent controller. The batteries are either 12 or 24, with an emphasis on 24. So I have 4x 122 Ah Marine in series/parallel. Very happy with it. I have a 1000w high efficiency inverter that draws around 300w on a regular basis and the batteries remain fully charged despite feeding the 12v…

Pros
  • 1 year trial
Cons
  • Not the best

Died 2.5 years in the best generators and portable power supplies

update my review: seemed like a great controller but only 1 year warranty. Since the installation I have generated over 1750 kWh of electricity with it and 10x100 watt solar panels. Everything worked as expected, but after 2.5 years the switch between battery and controller tripped and works again when I restart. The controller ended up with a short on the charging side. I regularly connect my laptop to it and study logs to see how the panels work and it works very efficiently. I have a 48v…

Pros
  • handy thing
Cons
  • useless features

doesn't work properly.

This thing CAN work. I ordered an MT-50 counter, it doesn't work. I downloaded the manual and read it before ordering and the manual says you can control this with a PC and cable. I ordered a PC cable but no software came with the charge controller and NONE is offered on the Renogy website. The indicators on the front show that it is charging and the battery indicator shows that it is fully charged. So what is it, it can't be both. I have installed and use several charge controllers including…
