Unit size too small

I wanted it to be about 5 times bigger to hold more sand and silt without having to wash my back as often. I don't think the block size isn't specified in the add. Please advise the size. Water flow and pressure are normal. I just don't like the size.

Pros
  • Crossing my fingers
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

Poor joint sealing

Poor joint sealing. I had to use a lot of teflon tape and twist them. I have sand from a well. Coarse sand falls to the ground, but small particles get caught in the mesh. The mesh often clogs and washing does not clean it, so the mesh must be removed and cleaned with a toothbrush.

Pros
  • Absolute legend
Cons
  • Operating speed

Severely restricts water flow

Severely restricting flow on a 1hp jet pump. with 1" pipe. OK. Installing this filter on the outlet side has limited the water outlet to near zero. There is no visible clog in the filter to cause this. I suspect it's just not a whole house filter.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • I don't really like it, it's ok

Good ex not 1 " NPT, only 3/4 " NPT male thread

Incorrect description as the 1" thread on the filter housing is a machine thread, not NPT. So you can connect to 3 NPT male threads /4" thread ends only. But that's fine as you have the connector on either side and you can easily remove/replace the whole thing if needed. There are female threads in the machine thread ends as well as 3/4" NPT, but if you've used them, you'd have no connections. I've installed them before, albeit more expensive brands.

Pros
  • One year trial period
Cons
  • No automatic

Good ex no 1 " NPT, only 3/4 " NPT male thread

Incorrect description as the 1" thread on the filter housing is machine thread, not NPT. So you can attach to 3/4" connect Male NPT adapter ends only. But that's ok as you have the connector on both sides and you can easily remove/swap the whole thing if needed. There are also 3/4" female NPT threads in the threaded ends of the machine, but if you were using those you would have no connectors. I have installed them before, although they are more expensive branded products.

Pros
  • Tools and Housewares
Cons
  • Expensive

Not suitable for iron pipes

Not required for iron pipes or polyethylene pipes. An internal thread connection is not suitable for a pipe threaded socket or even a pipe. I got it working using JB Weld to weld two 3/4" to 1/2" sockets. The instructions state that this device is intended for welding PPR pipes and hot melt adhesive. The instructions say "but if the whistle in your family is made of metal, then the whistle must be accepted differently". God thank you for telling me now! If the metal in the filter was brass, the

See what's in your drinking water!

I added this filter to my entire home filter system as a starter filter. Through the glass bowl, I can see exactly what's coming out of my city water supply. I was shocked to see sand and mud in the city water. I now use the bottom flush valve and clean the filter weekly. No more sand and dirt clogging my faucets and washing machine strainers. I suggest using teflon tape on all connectors, be patient and take your time. Be careful not to overtighten the inlet and outlet fittings. However, you…
