Description of Enhance Turntable Stability with Riverstone Audio Rock & Roll Series 380 Record Weight Stabilizer - Deep Ocean Color

RECORD WEIGHT WITH STYLE - Riverstone Audio's ROCK n' ROLL GUITAR-SERIES RECORD WEIGHTS - Music is not boring, why should a record weight be? These weights have it all, superb craftsmanship, good looks and, above all, the ability to enhance sound quality. The top surface of the Guitar Series weights have a finely detailed laser engraving of a classic 6-string electric guitar-- instantly dress up your turntable with artistic style and personality. BETTER SOUND - Improves contact between a record and platter to reduce the transfer of unwanted vibrations to a stylus. The reduction of extraneous vibrations reduces distortion - provides better detail, tighter bass and overall improvement of sound quality. Also helpful to temporarily improve flatness of LP's; a warped or bowed record changes the contact angle between the stylus tip and record groove - leading to audio distortion and additional lateral loading of a stylus. LESS STRESS ON MOTORS - The medium mass (380 g) of the R&R 380 makes it well suited for use on most turntables, including vintage turntables. The medium mass requires a lower starting torque and the low profile/precision machining reduce wobble which lowers axial and radial loading of motor/spindle bearings during record playback. LOOKS GREAT ON ANY TURNTABLE – The R&R 380 record weights not only improve sound quality, it is a work of art, and ergonomically designed for easy gripping. The exquisite surface finish was obtained by a process that involves multistep glass beading, hand polishing and anodizing for surface protection and color. Looks great on and off a turntable. CNC machined from 7075-T6 aluminum (one of the best aerospace grade aluminum alloys). LOW PROFILE - Fits under most dust covers; however, best to measure before ordering (requires approx. 36 mm from record surface to underside of dust cover). foam-lined wooden box is included to protect the record weight when not in use. Spec's: Mass 380g, 34.5 mm height, max. diameter (at base) 80 mm, spindle hole 7.25 mm dia. x 20 mm deep. Laser engraving: 6-string electric guitar. “Deep Ocean” (a dark blue-black color) with a satin finish.

If you buy one, just buy this one!

I love everything about this weight. Look fit and ready. And the price! I've been researching the weight for a while and this one fits right in. Fits my Technics SL-1300 lid down and deerskin floor mat over stock rubber. Couldn't be happier! Ouch! And a gift box!

Pros
  • ENHANCED SOUND - Improves record-to-disc contact and reduces transmission of unwanted vibration to the stylus. By reducing extraneous vibrations, distortion is reduced - for better detail, tighter bass and an overall improvement in sound quality. It is also useful to temporarily improve the flatness of the LP; A warped or bent record changes the contact angle between the stylus tip and the record groove, resulting in sound distortion and additional lateral stress on the stylus.
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Hopefully not too heavy for a vintage turntable.

I'm not sure if it's getting too hard for my vintage turntable over time or not. A few cuts seem to improve the sound, but this can result in overloading the motor or bearings. Nice packaging, aesthetically cool item itself, heavy. Keep it on your bedside table, in the passenger seat, in your purse or gym bag, or in your favorite prison stocking in case you need to hit someone in the head with a blunt object. The thing doesn't play.

Pros
  • LOW PROFILE - fits most dust covers; However, it is best to measure before ordering (requires approximately 36mm from the surface of the record to the bottom of the dust cover). The set includes a foam-lined wooden case to protect the record weight when not in use. Properties: weight 380 g, height 34.5 mm, max. diameter (at the base) 80 mm, spindle bore dia. 7.25mm. x 20mm deep. Laser Engraved: 6 String Electric Guitar "Deep Ocean" (dark blue-black) with satin finish.
Cons
  • Some bugs

That is so cool ! Best in Electronic Music, DJing and Karaoke

Nice and heavy! I really like it, the box is wooden with a nice metal clasp hook, the box itself is a great display. I didn't notice any improvement in sound. If you're reading the manual for my Technics SL-Q300 direct drive turntable, be warned not to use any of these weights. I agree, the item on top of the box looks great on the music shelf next to my turntable. I play guitar so I love the graphics, mine is blue, the graphics are awesome! I would take it just because it's cool! So even if…

Pros
  • RECAND WEIGHT WITH STYLE - ROCK AND ROLL GUITAR SERIES WEIGHT Riverstone Audio - Music isn't boring, why should records weigh like that? This scale has it all: excellent workmanship, beautiful optics and above all the possibility to improve the sound quality. A classic 6-string electric guitar is precisely laser engraved on top of the Guitar Series weights - add instant artistic style and personality to your turntable.
Cons
  • Bad instructions
