Ideal for electronic musicians.

Great offer. I don't play games but I'm a musician. This is the cheapest velocity sensitive midi keyboard you will ever find. In addition, it runs on batteries. I'm interested in electronic music and needed a small, simple battery powered midi controller to play one of my synths. That works great. $20 and free shipping, no problem.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Not fashionable

That works great! And now I can make music on mine.

I didn't buy this to use as a game controller. I used it as a midi controller for my laptop. I found software online that allowed me to plug it in using the adapter that came with it, so I didn't even need a midi USB cable. That works great! And now I can make music on my laptop. Definitely robust, high-quality hardware.

Pros
  • Good thing
Cons
  • Easy repairability

Probably the cheapest MIDI keyboard on the market.

I can't believe this thing hasn't gotten more press coverage. It's worth all the twenty bucks it's worth. My three complaints are that you have to use batteries, you have to hold down a key to change pitch, you can't change the MIDI channel, and worst of all, you have to hold down the key to change pitch change (why didn't they do the opposite? Well.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • No

As described, great simple midi controller

I use it as a midi controller and it's pretty good. The buttons stuck a bit on the first dozen presses, but after a bit of use they're firm. What's still not entirely clear to me are the speed channels. It maintained speed on some pianos I tried, and presets and octaves could be changed from the keyboard itself. All in all, this is a great little power knob to add a little nerdy to your show.

Pros
  • handy item
Cons
  • not as thick as other picks

Makes a cheap but useful MIDI controller

I originally bought this because my daughter wanted to learn how to play the keyboard. After a bit of research, I found that the Rock Band 3 keyboard could be used as a MIDI controller and that the actual playing surface didn't matter, so I bought the cheapest. When you try to use the PC's wireless interface, you experience significant delays due to some driver issues. And while it 'can' be used, if you're just using it to input sequences, you're much better off getting a MIDI-to-USB cable…

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Can't remember

True 5 pin DIN MIDI connector for $20!

I don't play computer games, so I have no idea how this interacts with you. However, I needed a small MIDI keyboard with a 5-pin MIDI OUT port to directly play some older MIDI modules while manipulating sounds. I was surprised when I found the build quality of this little keyboard. It's as durable as some of my small (made for music) USB keyboards. The only thing it doesn't offer is channel aftertouch, but for $20 who in their right mind would expect that. So this review is for musicians, not…

Pros
  • Inspires trust
Cons
  • Negative impression

Works as intended. for legacy systems

If you want If If you're using this for MIDI on your PC with a MIDI cable, you're out of luck with the Wii version. Keytar Rokker doesn't seem to support the Wii version of this peripheral at all. I've tried using this plug/play with the recommended drivers and even forced the installation of alternative drivers. None of them worked with Keytar Rokker or even my computer in general on Windows 10. If all you need is a Rock Band Wii controller, you're in for a great experience. Mine had…

Cheap MIDI controller

I don't use it for rock band, I use it as very inexpensive MIDI controller for my portable MIDI equipment. Lately I've been moving away from computers and back to hardware tools. I recently bought a Korg Volca Keys and while playing the ribbon keyboard is a lot of fun, I'm a lot more skilled on the keyboard. I wanted something that was battery powered and had a standard 5-pin DIN MIDI connector. After seeing reviews of this controller on various synth forums I bought it and it works great. The…

Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

Exactly what the series needs.

I've had the RB3 keyboard for almost a week now and I've had a very good experience. I've had musical experience on guitar and similar instruments since I was in college, as well as some basic theory/vocals/keyboards (much of which I've forgotten). Based on previous musical experience, I'll probably start with a slight edge over the average person. I've wanted to master the keyboard for a long time, and RB3's move into the realm of more realistic instrument playing was a welcome change…

Pros
  • Brand new keyboard for Rock Band 3
Cons
  • Some bugs
