Expected to work

I decided to upgrade to save some money. The item has arrived and appears to be in excellent condition. The problem was that the power supply was DOA. I was expecting something as simple as checking the PSU before I could certify it as working. Luckily I have a cable running from an old router I had. (yes, I'm a pack rat when it comes to cords). I don't want to return it as I already have it installed but a new power cord would be nice. Other than that, Roku itself works great.

Pros
  • Annual trial
Cons
  • Almost everything is included

Great upgrade to Roku 3 I had

Finally 4k in the household and it fit the bill perfectly. My TV came with Android TV OS which seemed great at first but kept crashing. I thought it would be a replacement for Roku, but unfortunately it's not. Roku is always reliable, fast and reliable. The 4k box is worth upgrading from the Roku3 box for its speed and consistency alone. Even if you don't have a 4k TV. The price is worth it and Roku is constantly adding new features/channels/content, even to their own free Roku TV station. I've

Error passing the Activate Remote screen

I wanted to activate the remote control (which I already did by pairing it with the TV). I could see the pairing remote screen or blue screen. That's all. It was well packaged in a universal box (the original box was the only one), with headphones (which I left unopened), extra ear pads, power cord, remote control, batteries and power cord. works (note: I tried it through my AVR and directly to the TV).

Pros
  • Everything is OK!

  • I vaguely remember

Roku is my go-to for streaming all things

We recently cut the cable and our cable bill is now zero. I was an early Roku user but have also used Revain Fire/FireSticks. I prefer Roku for its user interface and customizability. Installation is simple: plug it into your router (wired or wireless - we use both), plug it into your TV, turn it on and you're on the air. Navigation is easy, and each generation of Roku gets faster, more responsive, and adds more channels. My only concern is the remote control, which can actually eat batteries…

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Available in black only

DO NOT BUY a rebuilt unit. No Revain guarantee

Not worth the hassle. I was excited to get this, but it doesn't get past the activation screen. It doesn't even generate code. Internet is fine and Apple TV works fine. Like my other skirt. It's a lemon - not worth the $10 I saved on a refurbished one with an "Amazon Guarantee". because of Covid lockdown. Roku support is bad. They keep asking me the same questions which I answer and they tell me to do it again. I think their strategy is to get people to give up instead of sending a working…
