Yes, the letters are on top so that they peel off later. I gave it a clear coat to make it last longer but who knows. After all, I should have read the reviews better and made better decisions, who's to blame?

This is exactly what I was looking for for my new car - I wanted to remove the dealer plate and have a simple Alfa Romeo design with taste and class. This is exactly what I was looking for and I am very happy with my purchase!

Fit and finish is great, unfortunately the Alfa Romeo lettering is not engraved, recessed or clear coated but is a decal which will peel off after just a month. If not, I would definitely give this product 5 stars.

Looks like a well made metal number plate frame for your Alfa Romeo. The only thing I would mention is the two latches on the bottom of the mount that flip up and serve to hold the license plate in place. When you screw it onto the car, those metal protrusions can touch the painted surface. That's how it is with my Stelvio. I put thick rubber tape on the curved tabs to keep them from scratching my paint with vibration etc. Also, the screw covers are pretty much useless and won't fit any license

These license plate frames would be "nice" if they were really as described, instead we ended up with a rather massive frame with poorly engraved writing, unpainted and not properly finished. In fact, the text was NOT white, but an odd copper-gold color. It looked very cheaply etched and unfinished. I would not buy this brand again based on my experience and other reviews.
