Starting a conversation on a patio table. To keep it from moving I taped it to a small piece of granite from the countertop. That's cool !

Unfortunately, as another reviewer mentioned, I'm also missing the black paint/color, resulting in black dust on the inside of the glass. There are 2 photos.

Everything worked fine for a while. I live in Texas where we have mostly sunny skies so things were crazy for a while. Now it won't even try to turn on the sunniest days.

This is a very cool solar powered (thermal) device. Although the silver side of the petals has faded somewhat, the device spins freely in the sun even behind a slightly darkened office window. Cool retrospective science demonstrator that never gets old.

This was our second attempt to get one of these and the quality was unsuccessful on both attempts. In the case of this particular item, the black paint had peeled off the fins and was spread throughout the interior of the globe. Definitely NOT a quality product. He was returned.

I have owned several radiometers over the years. Some just stopped working (probably air leaks) or didn't spin well or broke. The latter had to be in direct sunlight before it started spinning. Luckily my cat knocked it over and it broke, forcing me to look for another one. This is the one I chose. It was reasonably priced and looked functional without being overly decorative.
