This is a great way to create or display art. This easel is crafted from very hard oiled Beech wood with a rich natural finish. Portable and sturdy, easily assembled. Beautifully crafted beech wood construction with quality brass hardware. Lightweight (4 lbs.) and folds flat for easy transport and storage. Sturdy full H base measures 12-3/4" x 12" and has non-skid rubber pads to protect tabletop. Holds canvases up to 24" high. Stands 31" tall in its upright position.

Breaks easily

Overall this is a good easel. However, the screw holding part of the top of the canvas came loose after the third use. I have attempted to reach out to Royal Langnickel for assistance and their customer service responded once with a request for product information and then refused to acknowledge any further emails since they were given the information. I love this product but I will never buy this or anything from Toyal Langnickel again because of their customer service.

GREAT value

So fit and finished not 5 stars. In fact, the final assembly only deserves one star, but the basic design and construction is solid. The device I received was natural wood with no knots and lightly treated with some kind of oil. Unfortunately, it was more than a little wobbly. As I understood it, I could either return it and spend 4x the price on another model, or I could work on this model a bit. Long story short, I took it apart, sanded and polished it a bit, and glued it all back togetherโ€ฆ

Downgraded for hot glue

If I had looked at it while pulling it out it would have gotten a 5. The pieces fit together really well, using real joints and not just pieces of wood screwed together. The wood is even and clean, the breech is smooth, etc. - BUT - the assembly leaves a lot to be desired. I've noticed hints that he's "rachitic" - look at him closely. The connections appear to be joined with hot glue! After a few movements (even without putting anything on top) some of the hot glue came loose, which allowed the
