🧽 Rubbermaid Evolution Sink Mat: Small, White - A Must-Have for Your Kitchen Sink! Review

Why does everything keep getting worse? The old style was thicker and stronger. This new style is thinner and feels fragile. Too many holes for drainage. The edges of some items can easily reach the stainless steel sink. I had no choice but to buy the new style - I couldn't find the old style and competing models looked even worse.

Thought it would be stiffer but it flexes easily even for medium weight items. It's not really a problem, but it does make placing things in the sink on that side more precarious than I'd like (that's why I bought it in the first place: to have stability over the hole area). In addition, stains are permanent and fast. Not worth it for me. Substitute.

I've been using it for over a month and I'm very satisfied. No cracks, good protection, no complaints yet. There may be stains on it, but if you just wash the dishes and don't leave them, it's not a problem. We eat pasta a lot, so marinara stains await on our white bowls so we don't leave dishes. There may be slight discoloration, but if it bothers you, a small drop of gentle scrub and a small brush will do the trick in seconds.

The mat is quite durable like others I've had in the past. It doesn't have "legs" on the bottom so food scraps get stuck under the mat. The mat must be removed from the sink to flush food debris down the drain. I can live with it. What disappointed me was that the carpet turned red from washing the tomato soup off the plates and pans. I soaked it in bleach. I rubbed it with everything I could think of. I used a sponge eraser. I've just moved in and my kitchen sink is a double ended white porcelain sink with small sinks that don't seem to be the usual size. After searching locally and online I finally found these Rubbermaid floor mats. They're well made - nice and thick (although still fairly flexible) with little feet on the bottom to lift them off the bottom of the bowl. They are bright white and work great. Tried to get 2 of these the same white colour. They are all different shades of off-white, inconsistent and mismatched. The mats are otherwise fine, but Rubbermade's quality control is not the best. Still looking for the right pair of these or another style/brand will get the job done. I wish someone at Rubbermade would listen to their customers and make old style kitchen sink mats and drain pans. It would be worth the price to get the same old style quality.

I originally ordered 2 large rugs but they were too big for my sink with trash in them so I went back and bought the small size. Make sure you measure your shells with an accurate tape measure. Other buyers have complained about the staining. When I clean the sink, I clean the carpets.
