Doesn't work very well

This product is comfortable to use, ergonomic and convenient to use, but it doesn't cut thread or 8/2 cotton very well. I thought the blade was very sharp and would cut the thread. You almost have to use the motion of the saw to get results. upset.

Pros
  • Comes with a safety blade with a rounded tip to prevent punctures. Pointed blade sold separately. The blade can be set to two depths of cut or fully retracted into the handle when not in use.
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

Don't buy this. Buy a real seam ripper!

Very faint. I regret buying this instrument. It's very cheaply made and the blade (if you can call it a blade) is made of thin plastic. I went back to my old seam ripper. .

Pros
  • Ergonomic handle made of durable and lightweight glass fiber reinforced nylon. There is a lanyard opening to keep the tool close at hand. Easy blade change without tools.
Cons
  • Some nuances

Innovative retractable ripper handle

I was really hoping for an update on the traditional ripper. However, the compartment that held the blade in this grip does not hold the blade in place, making it non-functional for me. I ordered a utility knife handle the day after it arrived. The utility knife handle holds the blades rigidly in place, which gives me more control over tear seams.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Big and bulky

The longer handle offers a good grip.

This is a light but long seam ripper. I almost immediately swapped out the round-tipped blade for a pointed seam ripper blade because I found that the round-tipped made it difficult to get under seams. When I did, I was perfectly happy with it. It has helped me correct so many of the mistakes I've made with the face masks, which I make relatively easily. I would definitely recommend this to others (with the caveat that you have to buy pointed blades to use it with).

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Only available in black

A good ideal, but of little practical use.

Here's my two cents for the price, I was going to love this seam ripper, the idea behind it is amazing. From a practical standpoint, it was too thick to use, nor sharp enough to cut thread. It pulled them more when I could tuck it under the seam and it was a waste of time trying to pull it down the seam. What I liked about it was the shape and the fact that the blade could be retracted. The thumb up fits perfectly and the retractable blade.

Pros
  • Great construction
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
