NO documentation. No support.

NO documentation. No support. I wanted to use this with SmartThings. Do not go. I've been trying different things for eight months now. iMatic works, but it doesn't get me any closer to my goal. I've looked at the iMatic code but can't duplicate this solution for SmartThings. When I contacted SainSmart support they asked for my order number. After many exchanges, they finally accepted my order number and I never heard from them again. No technical information emerged from this exchange. This…

The device works, but nothing for beginners

This device pairs correctly with a 16-channel SainSmart relay. Both devices can be powered via a 12V relay, the relays are completely independent of each other. You can have 5V, 12V, 24V or different sources for each channel. Device management is not as easy as you might think. The web interface did not work well. I've experienced constant crashes where the device freezes and needs to be reset. There are many ways to get around this. But be prepared to create your own connector and interface…

Get ready to experiment!

No documentation. The website isn't fancy either, so it was a suck and see day. I couldn't get this to work by hooking it up to an 8 channel relay board. It wasn't until I discovered that the 5v and ground on the output jack were misplaced (?) that I was able to get this to work by connecting them back to front. This meant bending the contacts on the relay board 45 degrees to make the connection. I think I could make an extension or use cords but I didn't have any. Also, as stated above, the…

Big! I hope this helps people achieve what they want!

Okay, this thing was an emotional roller coaster for me. I started with the TCP module. It's VERY easy to set up, set an IP and all, but not for those who don't mess around with networks or computers much. I bought 2 for 2 separate uses. I have a bar and a bowling partner. One to control all the lights in the bowling alley, the other to control the bar. Most of you who have played bowling are probably familiar with space bowling. We work where the lights don't come on in time, and my staff…

Poor support and engineering

I'm an engineer working for a reputable aerospace organization and we have several of these (both 8ch and 16ch, different types). The concept of these devices was very attractive for DO control applications due to their small size and TCP/IP compatibility. Here are the problems: 1) The documentation is TERRIBLE, very minimal and unclear. 2) Do NOT expect any support from the manufacturer. They are not proud of their product and essentially told me they would not help me until I placed another…
