💡 Samlex PST-3000-12: Powerfully Efficient 3000 Watt Pure Sine Wave Inverter Review

I looked at all the different options and this one was for me. It's more expensive, but you get what you pay for. It comes standard with neutral ground, so you can use it without having to make an extra neutral ground plug. Starts my oven and freezer with no problems. Attempted Giandel, which failed twice within a few days.

The first one I bought was dead on arrival. Returned, second one received. It worked for exactly 1 month. Since it has multiple overload protections and is positioned as one of the best inverters out there, I wasn't overly concerned about that. I restarted it once for a few seconds and it died with no buzzer, light or even any notification that it was overloaded and now it's dead.

This is a pure sine wave high power inverter. I've used it a few times and it seems to work well, although it uses a lot of watts when only using the microwave for a minute. However, it can easily run a refrigerator and other smaller appliances at 120. I installed it on the bench of the van's dining area and ran wires to the battery compartment right next to the dining area. I used the recommended 4/0 wire so be sure to purchase flexible material for tight spaces.

This unit replaced a Sunforce that melted when the cooling fans stopped working. Well made and working great as of May 2016, powering my loads at home, TVs, ceiling fans, lights, common outlets and tower hungry computers. October 2017. The device stopped working while the house lights were on. A few 9W bulbs and nothing else. In the meantime, I'm running these lamps off of a small 300W modified sine wave I dug out of a twenty year old cupboard! Beats me!

I like Xantrex I have had 3000w and 2000w and they work great but do you know that I decided to test the samlex pst 3000w inverter because I have had a 3000w since 2011 -12v solar system for regular daytime use and since i got the samlex 1 month ago it has been working great except i had to use a normal fan to prevent the inverter fan from turning on constantly and since i did this, the inverter fan will stop working. But to know it works great let's see if it beats Xantrex that has lasted me 6

What a nightmare! Switched off my old inverter and put this in its place. I even ordered new larger cables for it. Paired with the Midnight Classic 200 CC it worked great for 2 months. Once I got to the garage and the red light on it screamed loudly. Fixed some basic bugs and nothing. Even a 100-watt light bulb cannot be lit four minutes before the red light.
