The length can still be adjusted

I bought this in the hope that after installation the length would not be adjustable. Sorry, you can customize. Then what is the purpose? Just to hold on, then a regular strap can do it.

works well in luggage and travel gear

Perfect! And now I find my plain black suitcase among all the other black ones circulating around the carousel. TSA had no problem opening this as I found a 'sorry we checked your luggage' note on my back from my last trip.

Good product with some tweaks

Reviews are true someone can adjust the strap once it's locked and even remove it if you use it on a smaller suitcase. However, it is still an effective product with some modifications. 1) I will use two straps/locks and cross them on each large suitcase. 2) I will also find a way to make it so that a potential thief cannot change the length of the strap. 3) Be aware that if they have the TSA key, they can open them all. It's about slowing them down so they move on to another piece of luggage…
