Good big drive for HD media

Great drive, high bandwidth, HD media storage and more. The large physical size does not take up too much space. As long as I like it

Pros
  • Regular price
Cons
  • High price

Robust and reliable: computers and accessories

I only use G or OWC drives for important things. I wish it could be installed quicker but it was the dependable workhorse I've come to expect from this brand.

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Some shortcomings

Hardly the best upgrade among external hard drives

I bought this as an upgrade to USB 3.0 4TB G-DRIVE but this USB-C box only has a 30MB/s improvement. On my M1 Mac, I get a spinning loading wheel when trying to access files with Illustrator or accidentally browsing files.

Pros
  • Beautiful looks
Cons
  • Unbelievable price

Lots of memory but very slow.

If you only use this for archiving, this might be for you. Even at 7200 rpm it's a very slow drive. Whenever you press the hard drive, you have to wait for it to wake up to access anything. This can be very annoying when you are working on a video or audio project. Don't use it as an external drive for video editing, especially if you're sane. Spring for SSD.

Pros
  • Ultrastar Enterprise 7200 RPM Hard Drive Inside
Cons
  • Outdated
