Scientific Linux Review

What I like about Scientific Linux is that it's easy to use and configure for my applications.The ability to do everything from just the command line is perfect when you're using things such as Matlab or Python. It also allows me to access Linux software without needing to have a full Ubuntu environment set up. The only thing I've found to be confusing is figuring out how to install new packages and dependencies into Scientific Linux compared to apt-get in Ubuntu. I'm having a hard time finding

It's an Open Source distribution of Red Hat Enterprise Linux. The package management is really good. I can very easily install software from community repositories. I use it to develop my applications in PHP/MySQL environment. It has tools like GIT that are very useful too. This is great distro to develop your application in linux. The best thing about this distro was that it could run almost all my applications without any problems at once time which made me feel very comfortable with using linux in general as well! There were some times when I had to use command line interface but those are few occasions only because of its powerfullness compared other distributions out there like redhat or centos etcetera.
