You use a pestle to squeeze a drop into the wall of the bowl. Over the course of a few days, the drop from flushing not only gets smaller, but also begins to sag and leave a stain on the toilet. After trying the gel I definitely noticed that while it lasts it hardly builds up. If you have a sensitive nose, the smell may be too strong for you.
