Description of Sculpey Premo White Art Clay: 🎨 The Perfect Canvas for Your Creative Visions

Soft enough to blend easily but firm enough to hold fine detail. The best choice for professional techniques: caning, mokume gane and mica shift due to its unique formulation and ease of achieving consistent results. Retains flexibility after baking so the finished product remains very strong and durable. Ideal for jewelry, home décor and functional items we use every day. Densely saturated, pure pigments and an artists’ color palette makes color mixing simple and true. Mix with other colors, powders or pigments for interesting colors and textural effects. Perfect for creating millefiore beads and canes, delicate scrapbook pages, faux semi-precious stones or glass adornments.

Excellent clay for baking in the oven!

I remember using this clay to make beads for necklaces when I was a kid. When I needed to make little holders for my air plants I decided to give it a try. They came out beautifully, they were easy to shape and shape. I look forward to making more gifts for friends.

Pros
  • Clay and Dough
Cons
  • Functionality

Very old product for Ton

Gave this to an older child for his birthday and they were upset that it was unworkable, it was dry and crumbly. We buy Sculpey from Michael regularly and have NEVER had this problem. Just popped in to read more reviews and it looks like you're not the only ones who have had to contend with this :( Back to Michael here we go.

Pros
  • Ton
Cons
  • unreliable

Hard and brittle, unworkable

Media failed to load. the clay i received arrived stale, it's hard as a piece of parmesan cheese and unusable. all it does is barely crumble, it's almost impossible to break apart. very dissatisfied with the quality of this product especially as i ordered two and they both arrived in the same condition.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • A newer model could have been selected

Premo clay is the best!

I use this clay to mix with other clay colors and pearlescent pigments to make pastels and I use it often for laminating. The Premo brand holds its shape beautifully and is great for intricate reeds, mokume gane and is great for using with stencils as it holds its shape just enough that the edges aren't jagged (a problem I've had, when I used sculpey 3 with stencils). .

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Unsure

Ideal! Not too soft and not too hard!

I have experimented with different types of sculpting and of course started with the original sculpting. It turned out to be too soft, left a lot of fingerprints and became a bit brittle after baking. I've also tried Super Sculpey which leaves little to no fingerprints but is very harsh and takes a long time to condition. With that in mind, I tried Premo. This is the perfect intermediate level between regular Sculpey and Super Sculpey. It's not too soft, but not too hard either, and after all…

Pros
  • cool product
Cons
  • something different
