🔧 Emergency Eyeglass Repair Kit - SE 7581GRT Review

Bought to replace a similar kit 30 years ago which I gave to someone as a gift. It was interesting to see that this is almost the same product I've had over the years. Improvements: 1) stiffer plastic tube 2) all-metal screwdriver Disappointments: 1) the tube has a 1/2 inch tear but is still tight 2) the red cap falls off when you turn the tube upside down, exposing the contents is spilled. I'll tape it in place so I don't lose any of the small screws. Didn't come with a loose lid.

At first I thought it was great that the screwdriver was magnetized. However, after two 20 minute sessions, I still couldn't hold the tiny screw in place long enough to actually insert it into the hole. The screw is so light that pulling the screwdriver's web out of the hole will knock it out before I can even line up the screwdriver. I've tried removing the screw from the table and inserting it with a screwdriver, but the magnetism isn't enough to control it. I don't have bad eyesight, shaky…

I purchased this product solely for use with a screwdriver as it was the cheapest item to add to my main shipping order. The temple of my Costa sunglasses broke near the hinge after an unfortunate sitting accident and I had to remove the rest of the temple from the hinge. The screwdriver that came with it did the job.
