Description of Boost Growth and Health of Aquatic Plants ๐ŸŒฑ with Seachem Flourish Excel - Premium 4L Organic Carbon Source

CARBON PRODUCTION: All plants require a source of carbon, and Flourish Excel is a great and convenient source of bioavailable organic carbon. IRON PRODUCTION: Flourish Excel also possesses iron reducing properties, thus promoting the ferrous state of iron (Fe+2), which is more easily utilized by plants than ferric iron (Fe+3). PHOTOSYNTHESIS: Plants must produce longer chain carbon compounds (photosynthetic intermediates). By dosing with Flourish Excel you bypass the involvement of chain carbon compounds and introduce the already finished, structurally similar compounds. TREATMENT: On initial use or after a major (> 40%) water change, use 1 capful of Flourish Excel (5 mL) for every 40 L (10 US gallons). Thereafter, use 1 capful for every 200 L (50 US gallons) daily or every other day. For smaller dosing please note that each cap thread is approximately 1 mL. SAFETY: Flourish Excel is completely safe for fish, however, if you have Anacharis in an aquarium in which you are dosing Flourish Excel, then it is recommended to use it every other day rather than daily.

Great for killing algae

I used this to get rid of my algae problem. It worked slowly but surely. After about a week the algae in my aquarium had disappeared.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Stock availability

Suitable for my aquarium water treatment

I did not follow the recommended dosage. I have a 60g BBA shrub that grows EVERYWHERE. I saved so much money by purchasing this and I noticed a noticeable change in BBA color from dark to red. Just waiting for my supplies to look appetizing.

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Everything is fine

It's too early to tell if it works or not. Biggie's criticism is that they post how awful it is when it gets on your meat suit, but they give you a crappy holey lid to make sure you get it ALL on yourself. Client security error.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

Flourish Excel 4 liter

This is a great product if you have algae in your aquarium and do not have CO2 injection. It provides CO2 for living plants and melts some types of algae, including the nasty blackbeard algae. Keep the smaller bottle if you have one as the 4 liter per ounce bottle is a lot cheaper but doesn't have a gauge. What I did is that since I already threw away my old bottles I got myself a set of measuring spoons and use them for this purpose only.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Good but not great

Big size for dosing large tanks

Flourish Excel is a great product for keeping algae levels down and growing your plants faster. If you can't afford or are afraid of CO2 injection, it's a good intermediate step between low-tech and high-tech. I bought this a few months ago for my 75 gallon planter and so far have not needed a refill even though I have been dosing it daily plus at weekly 50% water changes as directed. Definitely worth the investment compared to buying a quarter that size tank all the time at my local fishโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Modern

Great help for the success of the planted aquarium

I'm a low-tech aquarist. I don't use CO2 or fancy lighting and my general attitude is to just put things in the water and let them do their thing. Before I started dosing Flourish Excel 2-3 times a week, my plants were fine in low light, but once I started I noticed (and documented!) results within a week. The plants started to grow fuller and faster, with a richer, deeper green than before. In combination with a good growing medium I believe Flourish Excel is the key to the success of myโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • I won't say anything
