Works great without mains connection. I've waited so long to get a product like this for less than $50. It's overpriced but if you want it pay for it and I have no regrets.

Who has a solid 2.5 inch saw? Not this guy! I had to go to the hardware store to buy it and ended up banging my toe with a hammer. Never wear flip flops to the hardware store. This thing works as expected once installed.

A very solid product that is easy to install. The comments that it's just a hair that doesn't fit the 2.5 hole are spot on, but just take a roll of tape and go around the perimeter a few times and it fits nice and neat. I have chosen not to connect the included power supply as it is not really needed for the application I will be using it for.

Nice little device. I drilled a hole in the corner of my desk and just popped it in - now I have 3 easy-to-access USB 3.0 ports and an SD card reader right on my desk. Ideal for charging or powering anything that plugs into a USB port, as well as a computer. Sits almost flush on the table - only a few millimeters high. There's also a small blue LED on the top that lets you know it's on.

I bought this and am very satisfied. The actual device is less than 2.5 inches, so be careful not to drill too big a hole. Tape the edges with tape to hold the grommet in place. All functions work. USB 3.0 microSD and regular SD. I tested with a large capacity of 128GB and it worked fine. USB ports can be a bit stiff at first. You will receive a power adapter to charge your device with it. It's not fast charging.

I was looking for a hub cover with USB ports. When I found this one it seemed like it would do what I needed. After it was installed on my desk and connected to my computer, I tried using the USB ports. None of them worked. The electricity didn't work either. I also tried an SD card reader and nothing happened. I was so busy that I was unable to return the item within the time limit given. So I'm writing this to tell others not to waste money on this.

As others have pointed out, this hole is a bit smaller than a true 2.5" hole, but a few layers of tape around the edge soon took care of that and it now fits snugly the holes in my desk. .No problems, everything works as expected and my USB 3 drive runs at true USB 3 speeds. Having an SD card reader comes in very handy as I am a photographer and can just take the cards out of the camera. and it's a lot easier to put them right on my desk than it is to rummage under the desk to get to my desk…

It's that little lack of complete detail that makes it hard for me to trust Revain hardware. These are international measurements that you may want to set in standard rooms. This is normal, but the instructions say to use a 2 ⅜ inch hole saw. If you make this hole yourself, you know the value of being able to fit well.
