Description of DTECH FTDI USB to TTL Serial 5V Adapter Cable 6 Pin 0.1in Pitch Female Socket Header UART IC FT232RL Chip - Compatible with Windows 10, 8, 7, Linux, and MAC OS - 6ft, Black

6 ft FT232 USB to TTL serial adapter (with 6 pin 0.1” pitch female socket header) connects devices with 5V logic level UART signals interface to a laptop via USB port. A genuine FT232RL chip module is housed in USB 2.0 type A male terminal for wider compatibility and supports reliable data transfer rates. 6 feet FTDI USB to TTL serial cable (6 way outputs, Single-In-Line ) provides access to Tx, Rx, RTS#, CTS#, VCC (5v) and GND. FTDI chipset on the PCB board has configurable internal EEPROM and UART signals can be individually inverted by configuring the EEPROM. 6 pin header 5V TTL to USB converter cord is compatible with Windows 10, 8, 8.1, 7 (32, 64-bit), 2008/XP/Vista/CE, Mac OS, Linux 2.4 and greater; ideal USB 2.0 debug cord for Vendor ID re-write, router, GPS, set top box, transmitter, flash firmware on hard drive, etc.

Works well AF: Computer cable adapter

Works fairly well. It says FTDI I think because it's pretty fast unlike the FTDI fakes. I'm not going to hack the USB end to see if the chip is FTDI stamped or not. I'm glad it works fine.

Pros
  • Computer accessories and peripherals
Cons
  • No insurance

It just works. in Serial Adapters

The perfect way to access your Arduino. Works on my Linux system (Fedora 31) just by plugging it in. I didn't have to reconfigure the Arduino IDE to find it.

Pros
  • Computer Cable Adapters
Cons
  • Small Stuff

Seems effective, does not work reliably with Mikrotik

Limited experience so far but seems effective. Can be plugged into Mikrotik's USB port to add serial TTL capabilities to routers that don't have it natively.

Pros
  • Electronics

Works great with Windows 10

I have used third party USB-->TTL with Z80 type computers, most of them have problems of one kind or another. This adapter works great! USB TTL level signals are good, plus 5V is reliable. highlighted.

Pros
  • Serial adapters
Cons
  • The list goes on.

Died and Destroyed My USB Port

Seemed good until it died and killed my USB port. Checked both the adapter and the USB port and the TTL multi-device adapter and both are definitely dead. Full of pain!

Pros
  • 6ft FT232 USB-TTL Serial Adapter (with 0.1" Pitch 6-Pin Female Connector) Connects Devices with Logic Level 5V UART Signal Interface to Laptop via USB Port
Cons
  • Could choose more new model
